A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE
What started out as a search for fresh, local, strawberries, ended with the discovery of a hidden gem which has become my favorite place to stop! I have returned a dozen times throughout the season and even recently purchased a fresh hormone free, turkey and a delicious pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. My guests said the turkey was the best they've ever had, and the pie was devoured! I stop at Kristy's barn not only to stock up on fresh healthy produce, or support local farms, but to relax. The store has a relaxing vibe and is always filled with delicious smells, happy customers and kind enthusiastic employees. On my third trip to the barn, both Kris and Sue recognized me and remembered the conversation we had the last time I was in. There are not many stores where you feel like you've known the employees and owners for years on your third time visiting! Throughout the season I purchased, fresh, sweet peaches, delicious apples, amazing tomatoes, kirbys for pickling(which you have to call ahead for due to high demand) blueberry turnovers, fresh hot cider donuts, flowers for my garden, fresh honey and the list goes on! This fall my grand children came up and I decided to take them to Kristy's. We had the BEST time! Free hayrides, a ""petting paddock"" filled with baby farm animals, pumpkin and apple picking not to mention THE BEST APPLE CIDER I HAVE EVER HAD! Perhaps what excited me the most was seeing the Johnson family work so hard together for the business. Kris was running around organizing help, and group tours, while directing people to the best apples and Ken was down pressing cider and directing the kids. Their oldest daughter was home from college driving the tractor for the hayrides & baking pies, their other daughter was running the register and filling displays, while their son was running the petting paddock. Seeing how hard this family was working together, as well as seeing where their products come from really made me appreciate everything they provide more! The Farm at Kristy's Barn is a wonderful family owned and operated farm with friendly and caring employees and products of the best quality. After one trip, I know I'm a customer for life and a valued one at that!!!
