I had been warned about the rudeness of the wait staff at this little hole in the wall on the mid-side of Greenville Ave, so I was a little hesitant to go. I love Greek food, so I decided today was the day. I was pleasantly greeted as I walked in the door, and everyone was very friendly. My waiter was wonderful. He made suggestions about their specials, and I had the lamb shank. It was supposed to come with spinach, but came with okra instead. Normally, I am not a huge fan of okra, but I decided I would go with it anyway.
The lamb was literally falling off the bone. It was so tender and flavorful, if I wasn't afraid people would stare I would have taken the bone with me. The orzo side was like buttery velvet. Often pasta is underseasoned in restaurants, but this was perfection. The okra, much to my surprise, was incredibly tasty.
I would suggest this place to anyone with a tongue. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and it's been there for years. I have driven past it for years, but I will think twice about passing it up every day on my way home from work. Opa indeed.
