Koko's Middle Eastern

We had dinner at Koko's yesterday evening. ALL middle eastern restaurants in Orange County and LA County pale in comparison! We had Hummus, Tehina and Babaganoush first, so very flavorful! Then we had the Chicofta, like a steak tartar, very good with pita bread. We had the House Salad, our taste buds were going crazy by now! Then came lamb cooked on skewers, it was like eating a filet, it just melted in your mouth. After that, we ordered a whole fish, a Bass - it was grilled, so very fresh, basted with lemon and spices. It was so tasty! Had some Armenian coffee and homemade Baklava for dessert - baklava was light, not overly sweet, could have had seconds and thirds, had to resist.. We were surpised how reasonable to bill was, they should charge more, it sure is worth it! You definitely get the best value for your money. I am going back to try more soon! The service was attentive and efficient. They made me feel at home. Nice family restaurant. Thank you Koko's, we are coming back very soon! more

My family and I have been going to Koko's Middle Eastern eversince they opened..eversince there first restaurant in i think it was North Hollywood with the cramped parking lot. Well there food is fabulous, its just very tasteful, and for the price good luck finding somewhere cheaper with the quality of food which you get. Anyway, there under new ownership and the family that took over is extremely hospitable. The previous owners wife was the main lady taking care of mostly everything. You could tell as soon as you walked into the restaurant if she was having a good day or a really f****d up day.. Sometimes she would have this look on her face as if she was going to slaughter you if you asked for a regular coke instead of a diet. Anyway, the food was always good. If your in the Valley or if your a middle eastern, Armenian, American or just someone who just wants to try something different Koko's Middle Eastern is the place you want to go. The new owners make you feel as if you were home. The service is very good, all of the appetizers are also really delicious. There chicken and garlic sauce is just to die for. I dont think they have Shawerma, but Zankou Chicken watch out! If you are a Zankou Chicken lover, then YOU MUST TRY KOKO'S. A++ FOOD. Pros: Chicken, Beef mostly everything on the Menu is delicious! Cons: Surprisingly...NOTHING more

My uncle calls on Wednesday and says, ""I want to take you and your wife out for dinner. I want to take you to an Armenian restaurant I know here that has terrific food."" I tell him we're free tomorrow and he says that he'll call and take care of reservations. Pros: Food is supposedly great. Cons: Business run by cretin lowlifes. more

I am from the middle-east so I know good middleastern food when I taste it! Pros: Excellent taste Cons: Bad attitude from behind the counter more

There is no question the food is A1 in this place and a great value as well. For around $10 you will be so full. However, time and again, the people there are just too damn serious and they don't have a good customer service touch. more
