My Most Favorite Amusement Park EVER 9/25/2006

This summer, my family and I drove to PA to look for properties in the Susquehanna Valley. On our way home, we made a stop a Knoebel's Grove Amusement Resort. Never being there, I had no idea what to expect. An amusement park in the middle of the woods???? HMMMMMM Well, first, the parking was FREE. Then the admission...yep, FREE. The ride tickets were so reasonable and all day ride bracelets are available also. I felt like I had stepped back in time. Knoebel's had two carousels and let me say, they were the nicest ones I have ever seen. They looked as if they were brand new. The paint was shiny and clean and the Grand Carousel had the "grab the brass ring" game. I had never seen that before and it was so nice. The park has two old wooden coasters and both of them were amazing. I love coasters, the wilder, the better, but these had me laughing so hard that I was crying during the whole ride. Knoebel's has several other thrill rides and several softer rides for the little ones. My 2 year old had a blast. There is also a very large pool with waterslides, for a small admission fee, but it is just like paying for the rides. The food coming from the stands smelled to inviting and delicious that I had to try so hard to keep from raiding them. Camping facilities are available right on the grounds of the park. Talk about convenience. The employees were so friendly and courteous and the park itself was extremely clean!!! This place is my absolute most favorite amusement park ever and believe me, I am a park connoisseur. VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! more

A great place to take your family 3/21/2006

Knoebels has become a family tradition, we have someone who rents a place nearby there every year and different family members pop in and out with their kids. You can enter the park free and buy inexpensive tickets or a ride pass for only those that want to ride. there are cute shops, snack places, and clean restrooms. parking is free too! There are rides for all ages, some games too. It is clean, clean clean, and friendly too! Even your jaded teen will melt a little and enjoy this great place!! more

Particularly good for smaller children. 11/9/2005

We found Knoebels to be particularly good for younger children. It is a nice size and there is no admission fee so grandparents can come along and not have to pay money to watch their grandkids have fun. They have a good selection of rides for kids (they do not have the extreme thrill rides like at Great Adventure) and it is one of the few places where food is still somewhat reasonable. Our friends at church always spend a weekend at the campground which is within walking distance of the park. more

Knoebels 10/31/2005

Knoebels Amusement Resort is a great place to go to take your family to. Admission and parking to Knoebels is free. That makes it nice. They have a lot of rides for the kids as well as adults. Their prices are affordable as well. They have a lot of different food stands and they also have a few game stands there as well. They also have picnic areas. more

FREE 10/24/2005

FREE, FREE, FREE Free Parking and Free Admission. The rids here are not as spectacular as Hershey Park, but definitely just as much fun. It's not nearly as packed as Hershey Park and is a much more laid back environment. You can take your time getting on rides and enjoy your day instead of rushing around only to stand in long, long lines at other amusement parks. Some of the rides are outdated and kind of old, but definitely still fun. There is great food in the park also, but you can also pack your own lunch and picnic under a pavilion if you chose. Definitely a great day trip for kids of all ages. more

Great family park 9/23/2005

Knoebels is definitely a family park. This is a great place to take small children with the kiddie rides. Offers roller coasters and other rides for your teens. Great place and above all will not break the bank to take your family. Have picnic facilities or many food locations throughout the park with very reasonable pricing. more

Wonderful Family Amusement Park 9/22/2005

There are so many great things about Knoebels. Admission is free. Parking is free. You can buy tickets for rides, or you can buy an all day ride pass. They have a great selection of rides, from a whole kiddie land, to two great roller coasters! And you can go for the brass ring on the carousel! The food is good, and reasonably priced. And if you want to bring in your own food, they let you! They have HUNDREDS of picnics tables! Old-Fashioned Amusement Park 8/21/2005

Knoebel's is a piece of history, and yet it is modern enough to have tons of fun. Nestled in the quiet woods of western Pennsylvania, it's the perfect place for families and reunions. You can pay by the ride or get an all-day pass. The wooden roller coasters are thrilling and heart-stopping. There are water rides too for the hot summer days! Wander around aimlessly and take your time. Sample local foods or indulge in their famous fudge. The kids can even play the normal arcade games in the game rooms. Take a day, take a week, take your family! Knoebel's is a breath of fresh air! more

Great Park For Kids 8/21/2005

Knoebels Amusement Resort is nice because it is free to get inside the park. So, parents can take their children in and just pay as they go (or for a day pass) for rides for the kids if they don't want to go on any. There are trees all around, so it is shaded pretty well and it is nice to just walk around the park. A lot of the rides are geared more towards children, but it is still a fun place for anyone to go to as they do have rides for people of all ages. more

Great family fun! 8/20/2005

This is one of our favorite local amusement parks. It really is a great way to spend a day. There's no admission fee, so it's a great deal for grandparents or people who don't go any many rides, but just want to take the kids out for the day. There's also no fee for parking, which we love. Another great thing: they have family bathrooms, which is a great idea for families with very small children who can't be allowed in a public restroom alone. The roller coasters are great, especially the classic wooden one. more

Like A Trip back in time... 8/19/2005

Such a fun spot for families--and the prices can make you feel as if you've traveled back in time! Knoebel's is a unique amusement park in that it has free admission, free parking, and free picnic facilities! There's a great variety of rides for all ages--the kiddie assortment alone is impressive as are the roller coaster, the ferris wheel and many others! Wednesday night is bargain night and for 4 hours, kids can ride unlimited rides for only 6.00! There are great choices for snacks beyond the typical carnival fare--pirogies, deep fried everything!, BBQ sandwiches--and for very reasonable prices! There are campsites, picnic facilities and a local restaurant as well. The parking is tremendous and there's a tram service to shuttle you back and forth. A *great* family value! more

Easily Amused 8/12/2005

Fun, and somewhat big. It's not so much that they have problems, it's just that they don't have enough good things. I've been to almost every amusement park there is, and this just isn't on the top of my list. Although the price is small to go on the rides, and it's free admission, I'd rather pay more money and go to a better theme park like Hershey. Good for tourists. It has the fastest wooden roller coaster. Knoebels give me more STUFF!!! more

Great Family Friendly Park 8/1/2005

Although Knoebels is off the beaten path and does get overshadowed by other amusement parks in Pennsylvania, it has its own unique wonderful qualities of the old-time amusement parks. There are covered pavilions that can be rented for a small fee. There is no admission price (rides are based on tickets, all day bracelets are sold Monday through Friday) and there is also no fee for parking. Knoebels also offers a campground and swimming pool. The park itself has a wide range of rides for all age groups. Overall it is just a great family friendly park. more

Fun Day 6/21/2005

For a fun day with the kids or your significant other, take a break and head to Knoebel's Amusement Park. It's family owned and operated and both parking and admission is free. So if you dont go on the rides, you dont have to pay a standard rate to get in. You have the option of buying an all day pass or buying tickets. There are many food stands and vendors all throughout the park. You can also bring a picnic lunch and eat under the pavilions that they have. There are a wide variety of rides from roller coasters to water rides and even a section of kiddie rides. For a fun day out, head to Knoebels. more
