Klein Animal Hospital: Reitzammer L P Rocky DVM

The best vet clinic I have ever experienced. Growing up in Klein, my parents used Klein Animal Hospital and have always raved about their gentleness, fairness, knowledge and ease. Now that I am adult with my own family and 4 pets, I live 40 minutes away, but that doesn't stop me from coming to Dr. Rocky & Dr. Murphy! We continue to use this hospital and I hope to never have to use another! The Dr's are very fair. They will tell you ""if this was my cat, I would..."" and usually they suggest the most cost effective treatment plan. I trust this clinic with my 4 fur-babies. I can't recommend them enough. Best. I have been taking my pets to Dr. Rocky and Dr. Murphy for 23 years. They are knowledgable and compassionate and really care about your pet. They are not in practice just to make a buck. They take your finances into consideration and are usually able to offer you less expensive options to try before getting into expensive treatment. They always do offer you the option of seeing a specialist also or going directly into the more expensive forms of treatment. Their prices are very reasonable. You PAY for all the ""state of the art"" equipment at some vets. They can't provide all that on site testing for free. I appreciate the options they give you and usually, the simpler things have worked and I have avoided more expensive treatment. When these two (and Robbie) decide to retire, I don't know what I will do!!! They are EXCEPTIONAL vets and I recommend them whenever I have the opportunity to do so. You can't go wrong when choosing them to care for your pets. more

Klein Animal Hospital staff and doctors have been used by our family for over 20 years. Occasionally, we have needed to use other vet services, but we have always found the quality of care and service to be superior with the doctors of Klein Animal Hospital. My two dogs had to be boarded several times in the last few months. I used a kennel first and the dog-who is older and going blind- was traumatized and took a week to get back on track. I decided to board them at Klein Animal Hospital the second time around and she was much calmer, happier and did not suffer the same results. They knew the dogs and were happy to give me information regarding their stay. These doctors /staff have been quick to diagnose and care for all of my animals over the years, and I have never been disappointed in their care. more

Our family has used Klein Animal Hospital for a very long time. We took our pets there for regular checkups, illness and boarding.\r We always felt that they gave the best care to both our dogs and our cat. \r \r When our cat had cancer, they were very caring and gave us alot of good information on treatment options for her. \r \r We boarded both our dogs with them when we went out of town. They always took such good care of them, I never had to worry. I was even told told that they held my 5lb pom at the front desk from time to time to keep her company. She didn't like to be alone. \r \r Our last dog became very sick with her kidneys failing they were so patient and compasionate. As they treated her the best they could, they were very honest about the limitations of the treatment. They gave me the time to decide when to let her pass on. When we finally decided to let her go they were there to comfort us. \r I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Rocky, Dr. Murphy and Robbi. I wouldn't think of taking my pets anywhere else. more

We took our new puppy to Dr. Rocky twice within 5 days, because he was not eating. Dr. Rocky said ""I don't know what is wrong with him"". ""Take him back to the Pet Store"" He told us to switch to wet dog food, give him pediolyte, and he gave us a prescription for an antibiotic. His attitude was very laid back and totally unconcerned. Subsequently our puppy got worse. We took him to a different Vet practice where he was seen by 2 more vets, as well as two other Vets at Animal Emergency Center where he had to stay overnight for 2 nights. All 4 of the Vets we went to after Dr. Rocky jumped on our little puppy's problems and worked hard to save him. We learned so much from these other Vets --they had machines in their offices with which they could test our puppy instantly for various bacteria, viruses, worms and do blood work instantly. For the same amount of money we paid Dr. Rocky who did nothing for our puppy, the second Vet practice was able to diagnose our puppy within an hour as to what was precisely wrong and treat him accordingly. Our puppy was immediately placed on IV glucose, vitamins and minerals, switched to a stronger antibiotic IV, given tamiflu, dextrose injections and a blood transfusion. Dr. Rocky had told us he ""suspected"" our dog had Parvo, but it turns out he DID NOT have Parvo. Dr. Rocky never tested him for Parvo (I guess because he does not have the machine in his office to test for it), he just told us he looked like he might have it. He acted like we should just throw our new puppy away, try to get our money back, because he ""suspected"" the puppy had ""Parvo"". Dr. Rocky at a minimum (I have now learned) should have told us to give our puppy karo syrup or nutrical (rub his gums with it) to keep his sugar level up. Dr. Rocky should have given our puppy glucose injection the first time we saw him. Apparently Dr. Rocky is good for just giving dogs their yearly immunizations, checking for worms, and selling flea and heartworm meds. If your pet is every really sick do not go here to this practice for help. Even the ""Vet tech's"" at our new Vet's office knew more than Dr. Rocky did, taught us more about what was wrong with our sick puppy, and did much more for him than this so-called Vet. Dr. Rocky is uninformed, unmotivated, and almost downright lazy. We had gone to Dr. Rocky and Dr. Murphy for the last 14 years with our other dogs, but we will never set foot in this office again. Go somewhere else with your pets if you need something more than routine immunizations, neutering, and deworming. These are not the vets for sick animals. We have been using Klein Animal Hospital for many years and have always received the best care for the best price by far. You are not rushed in or out and your animals are their top priority. It is well worth the drive from Tomball! Pros: Your animal gets top notch care without breaking the bank Cons: Absolutely none more

Dr Rocky and the rest of the staff are willing to do whatever is needed for you and your pet. This is the best vet office in Houston, including quality of care and price!!! I have a dog with special needs and they are so warm and caring towards her. more
