The Scene
If it flies, hangs or blows in the wind, you can find it here (live birds and 747s excluded). While the store also sells non-flying items, its claim to fame is kites, so the space is packed with oodles of colorful, winsome creations. Kite aficionados and folks looking for quality, moderately-priced playthings mingle with droves of Riverwalk tourists.
The Goods
With one of the largest kite supplies in New Orleans, this spot has a great collection to choose from, including kites for kids, easy to fly kites, stunt kites, prism kites, big kites (252-square-feet big) and traction kites for pulling kite-buggies. Prices range from around $20 to $1,500. There's also a large inventory of windsocks, wind wheels, Frisbees, boomerangs, flags, banners and yo-yos. Toys include things like potato and rubber band guns and Ornithopter flying birds.
