We too, unfortunately, would not recommend KDS to anyone. The design created for us was beautiful as was the end result; however, the issues we had to endure with the team (mainly with TIM) was just way too much to handle during a major renovation. TIM, was difficult to work with, dishonest, lacked professionalism or any accountability. He screwed up and would not admit he screwed up. If you have to work with him, BEWARE, just as the other reviewer indicated. STEVE, the foreman, wasn't anything to write home about either. The subcontractors were wonderful to work with as was their work. If they get rid of TIM, and you could work directly with the subcontractors then you would have a winning stress free combination. more

We were well pleased with our experience with KDS. The work was exceptional and we really do love our kitchen. We found the workers to be attentive to detail and eager to make our remodel experience as painless to us as possible. Issues with cabinets and lighting were caught in advance by the staff and addressed in a timely manner. They were up front with the costs so we knew ahead of time what we would be spending. No surprises at the end of the project! I would have no hesitation recommending this company in the future. more

We would not recommend KDS to anyone. The design created for us was beautiful, but we had so many problems with the team. We went to the showroom and spoke at length with one man,made and appt for him to come to our house and another man showed up and announced he had been assigned to us. This man, TIM, was difficult to work with, dishonest and totally lacked accountability. Maybe they've gotten rid of him by now, but if you have to work with him, beware! When we went to the manager in total frustration, he did not step in as he should have, Too many problems and frustration. We ended up with a nice kitchen, but very expensive and extremely frustrating! more

Lancaster, Pa is lucky to have Kitchen Design Specialists. The salesman suggested ideas we would have never thought of. He created a design we loved. After we made the decision to go ahead with the project, he communicated with us each step of the process, so we knew what to expect. The workmanship was excellent. We also remodelled our bathroom after our kitchen was finished. We love the tile work and our wirlpool tub. We have an unusually shaped room, which he was able to utilize the space to gain us the most storage and counter space. We highly recommend KDS to anyone looking to remodel their home. I read the review the was posted by padoc and could not believe what I was reading. I must agree with Honest Expert's comments. Two years ago my wife and I added an addition to our existing home and we contracted with KDS to design and install our new kitchen. Since this was an addition with many different angles, etc. the design was not simple. The measurements had to be precise and accurate. Therefore, the professionals at KDS had to work very closely with all of the contractors that I had hired to make sure every item in the kitchen would work. This included the carpenters, plumbers, electricians and HVAC. KDS's employees were very professional in all aspects of their duties. They worked very closely with my wife and I, which could be a challenge when making different selections. They were very patient and helpful. We worked together on a schedule and the cabinets were delivered and installed as promised. As for being expensive, I must again disagree with padoc. My wife and I checked with 3 other cabinet companies before finally selecting KDS. We found their pricing to be competitive and the quality of their products to be superior. Our experience with KDS was nothing but enjoyable (except for my wife and arguing over colors, etc.), which had nothing to do with KDS. We are very proud and excited about our new kitchen and would recommend KDS to anyone. We have received so many compliments from family, friends, etc about our kitchen. Chris keep up the great work, you and your company do not deserve the nasty comments that were posted by padoc. There is NO WAY that the previous review of Kitchen Design Specialists in Lancaster, PA is correct. You must have the wrong company my friend - how do I know? because KDS doesn't even deal with the appliance end the process, that's the first clue. Let me tell you who Kitchen Design Specialists really are... KDS is a high-quality, professional company that designs and thoroghly plans beautiful projects. My project has been completed for 2 years now and I LOVE my kitchen! I continue to get compliments about the cabinets and the wonderful island that KDS designed. Our project was large and complicated. Not only did the KDS team handle everything professionally, they took care of problems immediately and almost seamlessly. This company is commited to excellence and I highly recommend them! For more reviews - do what I did... call KDS and ask for references. They have many happy customers that would be glad to share their experience! more

Absolutely the worst experience I've had in all the remodeling work done to the house over the years. Kitchen Design Specialists has no customer service, nobody returns your phone calls and things aren't finished as scheduled. Whatever they tell you as far as timelines, figure on about 4 times that. They are extremely expensive but don't do a quality job. KDS is not detailed-oriented--they did not caulk around the cabinets or seal grout on the tilework. Some of the cabinet doors were not hung straight. Appliances were not ordered and some were installed incorrectly. None of the workers care about the quality of the work they are doing and they have no respect for your house at all, leaving it dirty or breaking things. There's no project oversight and you can't count on the people who work there to communicate with each other or their sub-contractors. If it were possible to give them less than one star, I would do so. Pros: location Cons: everything else more
