Kirchmayr Chocolatier

Kirchmayr Chocolatier is located on Deereco Road in a kind of industrial park setting but don't let that throw you. These are as fine as any chocolates you will get anywhere! They have lovely seasonal things like chocolate bunnies, scrumptious chocolate covered strawberries in the spring, and all kinds of delights on a regular basis. One of my favorites is the Earl Grey tea creams. Milk chocolate and tea may sound like an odd combo but it has a very delicate flavor that is very appealing (not too sweet). I had some marzipan from here recently that wasn't very good but I think that's the only thing that I've ever gotten that wasn't pretty much perfect. Presentations are also just lovely and perfect for gift-giving. more

This place makes reallly great truffles, and they are also a little cheaper than Glarus. I can't really compare Kirchmayr and Glarus though. I think both are equally delicious. Most of Kirchmayrs truffles are made with alcohol (actually, if I am not mistaken ALL of them are), so that might be a problem for some. The flavors are Champagne, Pear William, Raspberry, Irish Coffee, Amaretto, and Cointreau. Don't ask me to pick out my favorites because that is not happening. They are all equally delicious and sinful. They also sell chocolate covered strawberries during the summer, but I haven't tried any :( Of course they sell regular chocolates too, but I usually just get their truffles because I like them better. Go there and check this place out, they always have a little plate of samples on the counter :) more

I just love chocolate covered strawberries and these are the biggest and best I have ever found! They are expensive, but the perfect gift for anyone. Unfortunately Kirchmayr Chocolatier has limited hours and is not open late during the week, so call before you go to make sure they are open and not out of. more
