Kingstowne Acoustic Music

I fail to realize why people like CalebK think they can come into a shop and start playing the instruments to ""entertain themselves"" Every year music stores lose thousands of dollars in profits because they have to mark down instruments that have been abused by jerks like this. I was present on the night that CalebK came into the store and he was politely asked if he needed any help. His response ""I'm just entertaining myself."" The employee stated that "" the instruments are for sale. If you are interested in buying then we will be glad to let you try out the instument."" I'd bet that if someone walked into CalebK's house and started banging on one of his guitars he would have a fit. But it's okay for him to go into a place of business and bang away on their instruments. Glad that he won't be coming back to our store. more

First off, this place has HORRIBLE inventory. I have been playing guitar for 10+ years, and there is not one guitar there worth buying, particularly because everything is overpriced. Even Music and Arts has a better selection, which is really saying something. Also, whoever was working there was a total A-hole. After tuning a dreadfully out of tune, cheap, low quality ukulele and playing it for all of 30 seconds, the employee asks me if I am interested in buying anything to which I reply, ""Not now, I am just testing this one out and playing for entertainment"" (I was looking at it as a gift for little sister, but did not have money on me, so I was playing a song for a friend who was with me). He tells me that unless I am buying something, I need to put down the instrument and leave. Out of all my years of shopping at music stores, that has never happened to me. My only regret was not un-tuning the ukulele before I left. I occasionally purchase strings because of the convenience in location, but I am never stepping foot in there again. HORRIBLE PRODUCTS, HORRIBLE PRICING, HORRIBLE PEOPLE...STAY AWAY!!! more

These guys are great. I'm new to the banjo and a couple of times I've had issues with strings and the way the manufacturer set it up. Twice now, I've taken my instrument down to Kingstowne Acoustic Music and they've made repairs, restrung, etc., free of charge. This is especially nice since I did not buy my banjo from them. They're friendly, knowledgable and professional. They also have jam sessions on alternate Fridays and as soon as I can muster the courage, I'm joining! more

I enrolled my 11 yr old daughter for piano lessons. At the first lesson I asked the teacher which books he recommend she purchase for class. He said to wait until the next class so he can evaluate her level. This went on for four weeks.\r \r I feel as if we wasted our time and money. more
