5 star hotel... if you are like me and extremely picky about cleanliness, then this is the place for you! The owner Tammy met me at the door, and quickly checked me in. The outside of the motel is slowly but surely getting a makeover, they are remodeling the entire motel and budget only allows for the important things first. The room i stayed in was 42 a night. It was recently painted a cheery color, and the room smelled of bleach, but not over powering, just the way my rooms smell when I clean at home, so I knew that the room was clean. The sheets were nice and crisp, and they also had the lingering scent of bleach and fabric softener. The toilet had a paper strip across it to indicate that it had been cleaned, and I hate hair in the tub or floor and this bathroom floor and tub were IMMACULATE! The shower liner was extremely clean, almost looked brand new and still had the plastic smell coming off it! The one and only thing I would add to the room, and yes, I suggested to Tammy as I left, was that a hook on the door for hanging clothing as you were changing or dressing would be the only thing that would have made the room perfect! I will stay again without hesitation and suggest this to anyone in the area! Truly, Tammy was extremely sweet and very nice to me in my time of stress and I cannot thank her enough for her hard work. She will be a success! more

Clean and comfortable! 12/26/2011

This is definitely a five-star motel! No, they don't have a swimming pool, or a weight room, or free cappuccino, or even a phone in the room (but they have coffee and a phone available in their courtesy room). So why is it a five-star hotel? Because this is the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in! Especially for $39.99 a night, for both hubby and I! I think some of the bigger rooms are a little more, but still, extremely reasonable! The check in process can be done online but you will have to call with your credit card to actually guarantee the room. The lady I talked to, Tammy, was super sweet and said that if nobody stayed in the room the night before, we could check in early. When we pulled up, the place looked a little dumpy, but do NOT judge a book by its cover, people! The gentleman that checked us in was super nice and friendly and even asked how everything was when he saw us outside the room. The room was small, yes but it was very clean and I think it had been recently remodeled. There were a couple tables by the bed, and a little table to sit at to use your laptop. The heater/ac was back in the corner of the room and it didn't get back to the bathroom (also small, but super clean), but there was so much flipping hot water we didn't need it! And the tub was big; and definitely clean enough I would not have hesitated to take a bath in it. I can't say that about every hotel room. Oh and there was a ceiling fan in the room, which is a nice touch as we like to have air stirring in our room. The only bad thing was that there wasn't a lot of outlets and not a lot of room to put your bathroom stuff as there is just a sink, not a vanity. But still, that's not enough to keep me from staying there; I can adapt. And the window opened! It was nice to feel some crisp, cold fresh air! I love Houston, but I do miss the crisp fresh air of my home state of Kansas sometimes. This place is out on the middle of nowhere, but the air is so clean and fresh; and I bet it's super pretty in the spring when everything is green. So if you ever find yourself in the area, do NOT hesitate to stop here. The place is as clean as can be, the people are friendly and if you ever get a chance to try the proprietor's cake balls, do it, as they are delicious! He was telling us how he was trained as a chef and likes to cooks for the guests on holidays. I forgot to get his name, but everything smelled heavenly; I almost wished we had stayed another night! This may not have all the amenities of a lot of hotels, but if you're looking for a clean, comfortable room at a decent price, this is a great place for that! We are definitely stopping here next spring when we travel to the area to visit family. more

Looks Can Be Deceiving! 9/5/2011

My finace and I went to a family reunion at Keystone Lake this past weekend and unfortunately waited until the last minute to try and get a cabin. Ha! It's Labor Day weekend so that didn't happen. \r \r After searching on the internet for places to stay close to Lake Keystone, we came up empty handed. All we could find were motels. I've never stayed in a motel. I wasn't opposed to it...I guess they just have a bad rap. All I could think about were horror movies that start off in motel rooms. Creepy! I'm more of a hotel kinda gal. \r \r We reluctantly booked a room at the Keystone Lake Motel. The pictures on the website looked ok. And with time running out, we didn't have much of a choice. \r \r When we pulled up in front of the motel...I was a little mortified (my fiance wouldn't admit it, but he was mortified too). It definitely looked a little sketchy. Not much asthetic appeal from the outside. I wondered if they didn't keep the outside looking cute...what in the world would the inside look like?!?! I started picturing bed bugs, and smokey rooms, dirty bathrooms, mildew smells....etc. \r \r We walked up to the front desk and rang a doorbell to be let into the office. We checked in and she handed us a key, yes a key...not a card to swipe. I was nervous. We walked to our room and met some unusual characters along the way...most of them taking their smoking break.\r \r HOWEVER, when we got into our room I was pleasantly surprised. It was nothing like I had imagined. It was clean, smelled fresh, had fresh linens, and it was cute! I felt totally comfortable and safe. The beds were clean. The towels and restroom were clean. The bed was comfy...I slept like a baby. There wasn't any noise that woke us up during the night or in the morning. Oh, and the a.c. was cranked up nice and high...making me forget that it was 104 outside. :)\r \r Long story short (sorry...this is way more than I intended to write)...I will be staying there again next year during our family reunion. Motels get a bad rap...I mean, maybe this one is the exception to the rule. I'm not saying I'm traveling from state to state checking out motels. But next time I'm forced to stay at one, I won't be such a baby about it. :) more

Spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. 10/6/2010

I would recommend that anyone visiting Tulsa who would like a change from the commercialism associated with a large city to travel a mere thirty minutes and experience God's country in nearby Mannford. Traveling to Camelot Cancer Care for natural cancer treatment, I knew I needed to be in a peaceful environment... the owners and staff at Keystone Lake Motel provided it... and even went above and beyond the call of duty. For twenty-eight days they consistently satisfied each and every one of my requests, provided clean accommodations, were friendly, informative, and even entertaining. The owners live on site and work their tails off maintaining and upgrading the property. It amazed me that the rates were so reasonable while their rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. Again, you're a mere thirty minutes drive from downtown Tulsa, two minutes from the local grocery store, horseback riding, and fishing. Did I mention that the views at Keystone Lake are breathtaking? I highly recommend it! more

Great Place 9/11/2009

The owners went above and beyond the call of duty. They made every effort to ensure that I maintained an internet connection. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The entire staff was friendly. The staff made it feel like I was at home. I enjoyed my stay there and look forward to going back. Pros: Great Customer Service Cons: no ice machine more

awesome customer service 8/16/2008

I recently stayed here and was actually suprised to find that the owners lived on site. The motel was being remodeled and the owners themselves worked hard every day from shampooing the carpets to painting the common room. They were very nice people and faxed documents for me at no charge and changed a flat tire for me then took the tire to the tire shop and had the flat fixed-at no charge. My room was clean and the sheets were white and smelled good and the tub was big and relaxing. I would stay here again and will recommend it to others. Pros: good lighting outside, customer service, fax, wireless internet, Cons: no ice machine more

New Owners. Great customer service. Currently remodeling rooms, 8/6/2008

Personaly I have stayed here many times. I used to stay here before the new owners took over. The rooms used to look bad and were way to expensive for the condition. The new owners are now working hard to remodel rooms. Every room has new beds. The kitchenetts are in good condition and have lots of work that has been done to them. They are planning on making a rv park soon. They are very kind and great people. They make coffee every morning for the customers. The sheets are always clean and well kept. The carpet gets shampooed very often. They keep the yard very well cut and cleaned. If you don't believe me then come and see the rooms and people for yourself. Pros: Nice location. Wireless internet. more

Not for the Faint of Heart 8/4/2008

As an average traveler, I was looking for budget frienly, clean and comfortable, accommodations near Mannford, OK. The photos on the website appear acceptable. However, the actual room was not acceptable: dirty sheets on the bed, awful plastic shower insert installed over a window, dirty carpets, dirty chairs. And good luck finding an emplyee to recieve your complaints! Not sure how they stay in business... I sincerely ope that they can clean things up and attempt to make the accommodation match the advertisement. Pros: Nice location Cons: Not worth the $40 more
