Kennywood is great! 7/22/2002

Whether you are a rollercoaster-loving thrill seaker or someone looking for a great place for the kids, Kennywood Park is for you. Four world-class coasters (including one top 10) continually gain the park national attention. Still, the park hasn't forgotten its guests seeking tamer thrills; there is a large Kiddyland area. The park is also beautiful, with abundant trees, flowers, and fountains. Pros: Great rides, Good parking, Something for all Cons: Confusing layout more

romance in kennywood 7/17/2002

I have live all over the world and the U.S and no place stands as high in rating as Kennywood Park. I love the smells the sounds the rides and food but the romance of it all makes it outstanding. No other park can come near it! more

The Best Days of My Life! 7/5/2002

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, the absolute highlight of each of the 25 years I lived there was the annual visit to Kennywood Park. Now living in Florida, I have visited most of America's premier parks, including many of this articles '10 Best'. Kennywood remains my favorite. Its long and rich history captures the best of decades passed. While boasting the latest high-tech rides, especially coasters, it retains its heritage, and inspires feelings of nostalgia, and a longing for times past. Beautifully treed and landscaped, it exudes old-world charm. The food, particularly the funnel cakes and Potato Patch Fries, are great, yet Kennywood maintains lovely pavillions where guests are permitted to bring food, and to picnic at will. It is clean and has a very 'hometown' feel. While other parks are larger and more celebrated, Kennywood will always represent the 'best' to me of what a theme park should be. Pros: Charm, Attractions, Nostalgia Cons: Too far from Florida! more

Never forget Kenny Kangaroo! 7/5/2002

having grown up in the PGH area, and returned there 2x from Tennessee to visit Kennywood on our community days, I have to say that Kennywood is cool. I don't particularly like roller coasters, but the Hubby swears the Phantoms Revenge is the coolest, and the potato patch fries are the absolute best (as are the sausage sandwiches!). Kennywood is an all ages, all family, fun park with arcades and games for all ages, KiddieLand and 'forgotten Pittsburgh'-- some of the best rides of the past years. Spend the day, enjoy the family atmosphere, and take lots of pictures of the plantings. You'll go other places, but none will be as memorable-- for rides, games, fun and family time. Pros: Good parking-free!, All ages fun, paced as you like Cons: spread out, needs more coasters more

Great park 7/5/2002

I've been enjoying Kennywood since I was born. I now have children of my own and we try to make it at least once a summer but more than likelyonce ofr the annual school picnics and once for Heinz's company picnic. We enjoy it. I do agree with most visitors on the General Admission prices, and the single tickets prices. You shouldn't have to pay that much because you can get a ride all day for a few bucks more just to enjoy the atmosphere, food, and games. Pros: potatoe patch fries, funnel cakes Cons: gen. adm prices, single ticket prices more

Kennywood's Newest Fan 7/5/2002

My boyfriend's family is originally from PA and when we went for a visit (and my first trip to Pittsburgh), he took me to Kennywood. I love the old-fashion feeling of the place. One of the best aspects of Kennywood is that a person can get the amusement park fun at around half the cost!! Also, the park is smaller, therefore less hiking to each ride and much easier on the feet!! I am Kennywood's newest fan and I'll keep going back for more.... Pros: inexpensive overall, good parking, LOTS of fun Cons: hard to locate more

summer fun 7/4/2002

growing up in Pittsburgh Kennywood has been apart of my life for 37 years. It has always been a great park that has brought a lot of wonderful memories over the years. The park is now bringing a lot of joy to my children. A tradition i gladly am passing on. more

one of a kind 6/7/2002

Kennywood has been a favorite of mine since before I was taller than jeeters (pgh people know what I mean) and since i have moved away from Pittsburgh, I still go back to see it, because even though it is smaller, it still is gives me alot more than any of the mega parks can give. a genuine, intimite park experiance with the family, friends, or that special someone. more
