Our child attended Kayfield Academy for just short of 6 months before we withdrew from the facility. The toddler room was a giant holding bin and I was appalled by the way the teachers would scoot the toddler tables against the wall with the chairs pushed directly into the table in order to prevent the kids from getting up. It was not very clean, there was a great deal of turnover, and the education level of the staff was dismal. Our child picked up on many bad behaviors (hitting, biting) while attending and this was not addressed proactively or in an educated manner (ie normal for children this age, this is how we handle it, this is how we redirect etc). Instead our child was repeatedly sent home, bearing in mind ALL the children were hitting and biting. Within 1 week of attendance at the new private preschool we chose in the highlands ALL of these behaviors disappeared. Absolutely horrible experience especially if you have a bright, engaged, curious and highly energetic child. Would not recommend this facility AT ALL and I'm quite surprised by the positive reviews I've seen. Either many parents are just putting their head in the sand or their expectations are not very high. Two directors changed hands within the short 6 months we were there and neither were exceptional on any level.
