K.L.C. came out on a Saturday, assessed the site, had a written estimate to me that Sunday, and was ready for work that Monday! I had 5 estimates and K.L.C was the only contractor who identified a potential drainage issues that could have undermine the patio foundation over time. They were professional, timely, and left the job site very clean. The patio looks awesome and after this Sunday of steady rain, the patio drained very well with no standing water. They also trimmed up my hedges and 5 holly trees, which look good too. The 300 sq ft patio, plus pad for our hut tub, took less than a week to install. I am very happy with KLC and would recommend them to others. more

Good Luck with Follow up Service 7/26/2012

According to the State of NC and the Wake Couty court, Justin Kaspar was summoned, appeared, testified and lost this case. A judgement was issued on June 23, 2008 for breach of contact in the amount of $500 with interest in the amount of 8% accruing until the judgment is satisifed. Justin Kaskar has continued to fail in his legal and financial obligation. Justin continues to whine that this court case was ""wrongly"" filed and that he lost. Justin Kaspar continues to blame his customers for his shoddy work. I have photographic proof of his shoddy work and copies of his emails stating that he refused to fix his mistakes. Obviously the Wake County Judge in the case agreed with me. Justin, pay your obligation at the Wake County Courthouse. This judgment will not go away until paid in full and it continues to accru interest everyday. Cons: all more

I am also CHEATED by KLC Landscaping during May of 2012. One of our friend recommended them and we thought they are genuine people when we talked to them. We believed them when they said we dont put small things in the contract and again we trusted them at that point.. Once the work started and we kept asking for the things to complete, they started saying that ‘those items are not in the contract’. They always acts surprise when we ask them about the work needs to be complete before we pay the next installment and they say they are not in the contract. We made a biggest mistake of BELIEVING in them. A good lesson learned here not to trust people and put everything in the contract no matter how small it is. When they asked us to pay for the final installment, we asked them to do the finish the job as they promised. So we told them that we will pay some now and the rest after the work is done and He said ‘He will go to court and they will call our home insurance' and literally threated us on the phone. After some talks on the phone, we decided to pay them when they affirmed us that they will come on the Monday to finish the final product and we paid them in FULL. Guess what happened next…they never showed up to complete the rest of the work as of today. They acted very nice until they get their hands on our contract and then they started troubling us by not completing their work properly....what a way to earn money by cheating other people !!! more

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!! 9/8/2011

I, too had a horrible experience. I used money that my mom left me after she died to pay for this ""service"". each time I look out at my backyard and I see all DEAD Fescue sod I think of my DEAD mom and how she would have wanted me to hire a reputable company! \r many, many shortcuts as others have said. \r the company that takes care of my front yard grass (chemicals) told me that ""no way should sod EVER be laid in May in Raleigh"". well, thats when Justin and Don started my job and they assured me that though I would have to faithfully water it, it would survive...NOPE mostly dead and what is not dead is alot of weeds. (I have my lawn servce tending to those). and I have a water bill that proves that I WATERED like crazy! they promised me a flagstone walkway. what they did was simply place some flagstone pieces on top of my newly installed sod. AND I had to go to Lowes and purchase more. no way it was a ""walkway"" ..Maybe for the Jolly Green Giant perhaps, they were placed so far apart. I then spent the good part of May - me a 50+ woman digging around the flagstone pieces to get them to ground level so that the lawn could be cut with a mower and not having to use a trimmer to cut. what a total RIPOFF!!. most of what they did WAS a handshake, gentlemans agreement. then when I asked about a certain item I was told ""thats not in the contract"". you should see the vague contract. I hope these people go into another line of business before others invest their possibly sentimental savings with this inept and dishonest company. they obviously have NO conscience whatsoever. more

Nightmare on Elm Street 7/1/2011

Justin and Donnie Kasapar, KLC Landscaping were unqualified to do the work they contracted to do (Put in a Celtic Wall and steps and grade the landscaping to direct the water in my front yard to the natural area. I paid Justin full late one night with the promise that he would return on ""Tuesday"" to walkthru and complete a punchlist. He didn't show and it's been a struggle to repair his work. You know I'm angry when I go through the trouble of posting pictures of his work on Slideshare and Youtube. Go see for yourself. BEWARE! more

SAVE YOUR MONEY 10/31/2009

KLC Landscaping is an inept company. If you check with Wake County District Court records you will see that there is a judgment against Justin Kaspar dated June 2008 for breach of contract for so called landscaping work. He has continued to fail to pay the judgment. He fails to stand behind his so called guarantee. He used poor quality plants and has no customer service. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.? \r Cons: EVERYTHING more

Beware - NO service after the sale 9/16/2009

This company charged me $4000 to remove 6 azalea bushes and level out a 50' x 14' section of the backyard in order to lay new fescew sod. We were attempting to continue on toward the back canapy of trees the grassed part of our backyard. Since they had a guararntee on the sod for one full year - which we needed since our home was on the market - we chose them. They said the work would take 3 days - to rationalize the exorbitant cost - but was completed in under 2.\r Within two months most all the sod is dead, after the promised a one-year guarantee, and the yard looks horrible. \r We've tried phone calls and emails and they've apparently cashed our check and moved on.\r Very nice guys - good closers - and did a good job on the work, but certainly not worth more than $2500 and when concerning our new sod - there isn't really a guarantee of their work. Beware. Pros: showed up on time Cons: too expensive and didn't follow-thru after service more

Worst Business I have ever dealt with!! 7/10/2008

Let me just say that KLC is the worst business, not just landscaping, that I have ever dealt with. I would give them 0 stars but I guess 1 is the least you can enter. I moved into a one year old house which KLC installed the irrigation system for and the previous owner told me that they were having irrigation problems but could not get KLC to come out and fix the issue. They called and called but could not get a respnse. Since I moved in, I finally got them to come out and look at the problem but they never fixed it. I tried for months to call them back but they never responded to a single call. After I told them I was going to tell people about my experience, they finally called me back and promised to come out and see what was wrong. They did this about 4 to 5 times but never showed up. You can imagine how angry I was as I took time off work to make sure I was home. After breaking their promise another 4 to 5 times, I decided I had enough and paid another company to come and fix the poor initial installation. Save yourself the trouble and headache and don't use KLC since customer satisfaction and keeping your word apparently doesn't mean anything within this company. Pros: Nothing Cons: Poor quality, constanty breaks commitments more

God has sent me an ANGEL 6/7/2008

Over the last few years since my husband died...I have hired several landscapers that would come out and listen to what I wanted done in my yard. I thought that they would do a good job and I would hire them. When it was time for them to start, it was a complete disaster! It was like I never told them anything! The bushes and plants were everything that I did not want.\r \r I got a coupon in a mailing of one of those coupon envelopes. It was for KLC Landscaping. It was a very professional ad. I put it a side and then the other day I found it. I called them and talked to the office. They seemed like they were caring of my needs. I decided to have them come out and talk to me. I met with one of their sales people and everything was great. They started a few days later. I could not belive that everything that I wanted was done very quickly and just the way that I wanted. What was a big surprise was that the salesman that was out here never wrote anything down and I asked him about that and he told me that it was no problem. I have to say that I was real surprised that with everything that we talked about he remembered everything.\r \r They helped me come up with some great ideas that I was not able to figure out on my own. My yard has never looked so good. I really wish my husband was here to see what they have done. This yard was so important to him. \r \r I know he would be pleased if he could see it now. \r \r I want everyone to know how much it is a God send to me that I was able to find KLC Landscaping. \r \r God Bless everyone \r Pros: Christian Company, Do what they say, Value, You know you are important Cons: Little Busy more

Quality and follow up very good 6/5/2008

Seems more and more it's hard to find quality, communication and fair price all together\r in the labor market in Raleigh. I was very impressed with the quality, care and creative \r suggestions by KLC Justin and his crew. He said they work hard for referrals, and it shows.\r I would use again. Pros: On time, good communication, fair price and follow up more

I would NOT use this firm EVER! 4/24/2008

Owner Justin Kaspar - Very Poor Communication,Terrible Follow up & Poor Quality. All this and VERY Insulting and Rude. Even made my LOVELY Wife Cry (don't wish that on anybody)\r My advice--go elsewhere and RUN AWAY from KLC LAndscaping.\r Wish I could leave 1/2 star - ONE STAR is too much! Cons: Rude, abusive and terrible communication more

The best. 4/4/2007

I hired klc landscaping to fix irrigation for me and they did such a good job i hired them to re- landscape my entire yard. The price was right on and the work was performed right on time and they did more than they said they would(without raising the price). I will use klc for all my future landscape needs and i recommend them to everybody. Pros: Awsome work Cons: pretty busy (we had a one week wait) more

Get a second opinion. 3/23/2007

They did not complete the job as described. Never came back for follow up work. Plants were inexpensive and not suitable for location. Will have to redo what they did. Neighbor complained of similar problems after having them work there. more
