O.M.G....This is a fabulous restaurant. My boyfriend brought me here for a date the other night. The whole experience was very romantic, definitely a great restaurant to bring a date. The service was friendly from the get go. The seafood bisque was delicious, the lamb was cooked to perfection and the mango cayenne martini is a definite must. I highly recommend checking this place out. more

I was in IC this past Tuesday for my friend's birthday and this is where she wanted to come for dinner. I've always heard great things about Joseph's but had never been so I was excited...and definitely wasn't let down. The restaurant and bar are all class. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese which was a.w.e.s.o.m.e! Joseph's is definitely worth the trip from Des Moines. more

This is my new favorite restaurant. Everything from the moment my husband and I walked in was outstanding. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated right away. The atmosphere is very romantic and it made the perfect date spot. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and wine and made great pairing recommendations. The seafood bisque is delicious and they by far have the best crab cakes in Iowa City. I know we will definitely be returning. more

FANTASTIC restaurant. My wife and I were in Iowa City this past weekend to watch the football game and visit our son. On Friday we all went out to eat at Joseph's Steakhouse. Our whole dining experience was great. The atmosphere, the service and last but not least, the food. We started with the Crab Cakes and the Shrimp Cocktail for appetizers, which were outstanding. Then for dinner I had the Rack of Lamb, my wife had the Salmon and my son had the Porterhouse Steak. For sides we shared the Sweet Potato Fries, the Loaded Hashbrowns, the Whipped Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli. Every thing was perfect, the main thing we talked about throughout dinner was how great the food was. Like I mentioned before, our whole dining experience was great. I will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in town. more

I've only eaten here a couple of times but both times my dining experience was EXCELLENT. The restaurant is dimly lit with white see through curtains, emitting a romantic atmosphere with a hint of seclusion. Both times the service was outstanding. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine and food and helped us pair our dishes with the perfect wine. The food was delicious both times. On my most recent visit I ordered the Osso Bucco which is amazing. You get lamb with a sauce, tomatoes, carrots, celery and onion rings. Cooked like a roast. Reminds you of your mother's pot roast but better. For sides we had the Macaroni and Cheese and saut?ed spinach and mushrooms; both were excellent. This place is a must, I know I will be coming back regularly. more

I'm in Iowa City occasionally for work and had the luck of being there this past weekend for the Iowa/Iowa State football game. I had meetings all day Friday then my boss took us out to dinner at Joseph's Steakhouse. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere was inviting but each table gave the illusion of seclusion. There are white see through curtains by each table that you can let down for more privacy. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. I ordered the Grand Filet Mignon with the Baked Potato and Steamed Asparagus for sides. Everything was cooked to perfection and enjoyable. The server was knowledgeable and helped me pair a great wine with my dinner. I will be bringing my wife to Iowa City so she can try this gem for herself. more

My parents came to visit me before school started this past weekend. I love when they come visit because they always take me out to eat at great restaurants. This time we ate at Joseph's Steakhouse on Friday night. I have been wanting to try this restaurant forever and was so happy when my dad chose it. My whole dining experience was great from the moment we walked in. The decor is classy and the atmosphere is warm, it was very inviting. We were seated right away which was nice, especially since my dad hates waiting. For an appetizer we shared the Lobster Spring Rolls, which were fantastic. For my dinner I got the Shrimp Scampi and the Seafood Bisque. They were both delicious. My father had the Filet Mignon and my mother had the Salmon and for our sides we shared the Potato Lyonnaise and Steamed Asparagus, which we all enjoyed. Not only was our food wonderful but so was our service. I will definitely continue to eat here and I know my parents will too, my dad said they would be coming back next time they were in town. more

LOVE this place!! My husband took me on a date here for the first time this past weekend. We dressed up and had to get a babysitter. I was impressed with the restaurant from the moment we got there. The atmosphere is classy and intimate. There are see through curtains between each table so you are able to have more privacy if you want it. We started out with Beef Carpaccio and Buttermilk Onion Rings as appetizers, which were great. I got the Crab Cakes for my entr?e and my husband got the Ribeye, then we shared the Saut?ed Mushrooms, the Steamed Asparagus and the Boursin Potatoes as our sides. We had no complaints on anything, everything was amazing. I loved the crab cakes. They are definitely the best crab cakes in Iowa City hands down. Not only was the food amazing but our service was great. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. He helped us to pick out a great bottle of wine that went with both of our meals. I highly recommend coming here. The service is great, the food is amazing and they have a nice wine list. more
