The best bookstore!!!! 4/7/2006

I love Joseph Beth! They have a great selection and just has the warm welcoming feel of a non-chain store. Their Cafe is wonderful and has the best cappucinos and deserts. Great storytime and children's section. They also feature the occasional book signing and they have a large selection of puppets! Loads of fun and this is one of my favorite places to go and relax!! more

Joseph-Beth Booksellers 8/15/2005

I give them a lot of credit for my children's love of books. They have an awesome children's department , so good in fact , we go every Friday night for each of our girls to get a new book. The selection is great, the staff is very knowledgeable and if there is something they don't have, they make it so easy to order the item. Look around for "bargain books" that have been marked down. The music section offers a good variety of music and it seems you can always listen before you make a purchase. Also a good place for unique small gifts and cards. If you have children be sure to step outside to feed the fish. more

Extensive collection of books and music, plus cafe and events 7/26/2005

Joseph-Beth in the Lexington Green mall is one of Lexington's largest bookstores. Conveniently located near movie theatres and the Fayette Mall, Joseph-Beth is a very popular destination on Friday nights, for moviegoers and as a nice place to take a date for dinner and to browse books. They hold many events and book signings every month, and they have several ongoing book clubs that you can join. They often hold drawings for prize giveaways in conjunction with popular new release books and book club events. The cafe serves delicious meals, and they have both indoor seating and outdoor seating near the fountain. A lovely, relaxed atmosphere for dining, reading and shopping. The music section has listening stations where you can hear the latest new-release CDs. This is the place to go for classical, folk, jazz and contemporary music, as well as hard to find CDs, which if they don't have in stock they can special order for you. Not to be missed!!! more

LIke walking into a book fantasy-land 6/26/2005

The first step inside this humongous bookstore and you know you've stumbled onto something special. Two stories of books tucked into every nook and cranny imaginable. The lay-out and richness of the store will impress you at first, and then you will begin to be delighted by the wide variety of books they offer--a greater selection than any of the ugly national chain super bookstores out there, yet this is a regional family-owned and operated store. The attention to detail here make you just want to spend all day looking through the shelves. There are plenty of luxurious chairs tucked away just so that you can sit and lose yourself in a book. The discount tables have many beautiful books at unbelievably low prices. Every aspect of this store exhibits class. more
