After admiring the victorian elegance of the street level dining rooms, we went here for a birthday dinner - instead of the victorian elegance, we ended up in a HUGE 50'x50' room ...

love that steak 8/6/2005

i just went here last night and wow!! that had to be the best steak (filet) i have ever tasted. it was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. i was not very hungry but i ate every bite. My wife had the chicken (she does not eat red meat) which was huge and had an awsome flavor served with french fries. The service was very good and our waiter gary was very nice. we will be back. A perfect place for leisurely dining. Expect an excellent selection of wines and drinks. Seating is varied--large armchairs or regular wooden ones. The steak is tender and juicy and menu is varied enough to appeal to most appetites. I would highly recommend the chocolate martini and the caesar salad (grilled slightly for some smokey flavor with incredible dressing), the cowboy, and tiramisu for dessert. Great Ambience 9/16/2004

Great for just appetizers and drinks! The mussels and tuna tartar in particular. Servings are large so save room for the fabulous deserts (chocolate martini over italian gelato). Highly recommend the "cowboy" steak (ribeye grilled and on the bone) done "jordan style" will coarse sea salt. Posh atmosphere, envelopes you. Fabulous for a date or just some close friends. Was better the second time 6/16/2004

First time the service and some parts of the meal ruined our experience. But we tried it again, and were pleased the second time around. Jordan's is a good place to have a first date as it is in a pretty cool area that offers a lot to do if you go in the early evening. It also offers a romantic, comfortable atmosphere.   • The Scene
    Overstuffed chairs, elaborate chandeliers and vaulted ceilings (painted a warm rust) create a feeling of elegance. Only diners seated near the windows get a view of the Tiber River, but everyone will get swept away in the mellow mood furthered by a sound system awash in jazz and American songbook standards.

    The Food
    Meat-eaters can choose from filet mignon, New York strip or porterhouse, all charred on the outside, tender within and served with crispy, salty shoestring fries. Seafood lovers can't go wrong with firm, white-fleshed rockfish in a light cream sauce, served with steamed spinach and fluffy jasmine rice. Even a simple mesclun salad is gussied up with candied pecans, blue cheese and slivers of oven-roasted tomatoes. Desserts include a creamy, liquor-drenched tiramisu in a martini glass. How sophisticated. How decadent.
