Joni is an amazing dance teacher I have been with her basically my whole life and over the past years the dance studio has become family everyone that's writing negative should come to the studio now to see how kind and generous Joni is the best dance teacher she cares about you and is very helpful her recitals are amazing fun and energetic she produces stars if your looking for a place where the teachers aren't yelling care about you fix your mistakes in a nice way Joni's is the place to be she's great more

My 14 year old daughter has been at Joni Star Dancers for the past couple of years, and loves it. She’s taken dance at another dance studio, but quit after the recital. I have to say, since she has been taking at Joni Star Dancers, her confidence and overall dance has improved tremendously; and you can clearly tell that she loves her classes and her teacher. more

My daughter loves it at Joni Star Dancers! She comes home and enjoys putting on a show for my husband and I showing us what she has learned. The staff and instructor are fantastic with the children and I feel extremely comfortable leaving my child there for her dance lessons. more

Joni, Brilliant Dancer, Awesome person. Her mother is really bossy and grouchy. Shes BEYOND pathetic. The studio is TINY! they dance in a tiny room. Its just Not enough space for all those kids! Its a rip off. They just want the money. EVERYTHING is over priced. Every year the prices goes up and up and the quality is soo poor. For the recital dvd, its $50+ They wont let anyone bring cameras, so they can make money off you. And the costumes are EXPENSIVE!! for just a costume. It would cost less to get one at the store, similar to that one. Hopefully, they make the dance school better for people want to go there. more

Great Teacher! First year attending this Dance Studio, and my three children love Joni and have learned so much in just the few months that they have been there. more

Love the small classes and the one-on-one attention that my daughter gets. We wouldn't go anywhere else. more

Our daughter has been taking dance for past five years, this year we decided to try some place different. So we gave Joni Star Dancers a try. From September to now, we have noticed such a huge improvement in our daughters dancing, and we can't get her to stop practicing. Very Pleased! more

Good: I have the outmost respect for dance company. This is my daughter's fifth year at Joni Star Dancers and she loves it here. She is 10 years old and has learned so much since she became one of Joni's students. Every week she can't wait to dance. There's plenty of places to park and waiting area. Joni is the outmost professional with all her dancers. She really cares about "her kids." If you are there long enough you actually feel that you become part of their family. As a mother in the business world, no one truly understands how difficult it is to keep a business alive and thriving. Getting payments on time, costume fittings, setting up days and times for kids to rehearse, and making sure things run smoothly and efficiently is part of a successful business. Joni's mother, Joanne, does this with such grace and this is why "this business" is very successful indeed. There is not enough I can say about Joni. I have seen the kids look up to her with admiration and inspiration. She is a great model that is rare and hard to find in today's world. Her recitals are phenomenal, choreography is breathtaking, costumes are exquisite,but most of all it's the kid's faces that light up with excitement as they enter the stage. That's when you know that all of Joni and Joanne's work has truly paid off. After the dance recital, kids give Joni bags and bags of gifts and bouquets of flowers but it's Joni that bends down and looks them in the eye and tells each kid how proud she is of them. With Joni, it's all about "her kids." And I am so proud of sending my daughter to this dance company. As long as my daughter continues to love dancing we will, without any hesitation, send her to Joni Star Dancers. Thank you for two wonderful years Joni Star Dancers! Jackie more

Joni and Joanne are way out of touch with reality and honesty. Everything is about them and the money. Not the students. The teaching is not up to date. The costumes are too expensive. The studio is too small. (Its in Joni's Daddy and Mommys basement) There is no place to park. The recitals are put together last minute and looks like the props were made by my childs kindergarten arts and crafts class. Oh yeah, Dont bring a camera to take pics of your childs performance! You can buy an over priced poorly recorded DVD of the WHOLE show!!! This studio sucks and is so not worth your time or money! more

This was an unfortunate waste of time. If you like to pay exorbitant amounts of money for so-so service while getting pushed around by a woman named Joanne, then THIS is the place for you! My kid would be better suited spending time with adults who actually ENJOY children. more

i went to jonis for two years then took another two years off. ive been dancing all my llife and never had a teacher like joni, or been to a dance studio like her but it works for me. shes an amazing dancer and teacher , and yes sometimes her mothers a little pushy but hey, its the bussiness and thats life, you can tell they care alot about the people,i know thatr first hand theyre always there to lend a hand to me and not just for dance related things, for anything. theyre amazing people , joanne and joni, and the way they work as a mother daughter team is amazing. i was on dance team for the year of the commercial things and yes alot of people complained about the costumes and yes there was no dress rehersal, but thats becuase its not needed, she prepares us enough to just go out there and be the amazing dancers she helped us to be. as for the studio being small, its not a big deal, its cute and makes everything more personal , and more relaxed , you dont go in there worried or feeling lost because your all togther working togther creating something, side by side. jonis isnt just a school anymore, and its not just a hobby or lifestyle choice. its a family. more

First of all I agree with Kristen S., Joni De Marco is definitely an outstanding dancer. She is also an outstanding teacher. The best my child has ever worked with. Yes her mother is involved because she is Joni's right hand gal. They are pretty much partners in the studio and in my opinion do a great job for just two people. Who knows what Kristen means by saying the studio is lost in the 80's. Sorry Kristen you just showed us all how immature you are and that the stories of your actions that the students have told are 100% true. I will not record them here. As for the studio being too small... The studio is 7 years old and i would agree she has outgrown it. I have talked to her about this and she is currently looking for a larger space. As for the costume ordeal. I would assume anyone not mentally unstable such as our friend Kristen could understand not giving them out till right before the show. How many times have my children lost a head piece or some other piece of clothing i cannot count. And the comment with them not fitting right are silly. Joni's Props are a site to be seen. I have never seen a dance studio put so much time and effort into their props. They do a great job every year. And manage to keep it a secret until its revealed at the show. Joni has taken classes at some of the most well known studios in Boston. She is even the advanced tap teacher at the Boston Conservatory. She MUST know what she is doing. Requiring students to dress exactly the same is a good thing Kristen. Accusing Joni and Joanne of caring more for money than the kids is insulting and absurd. They most definitely do not deserve the critisicm of someone like you Kristen. Obviously everyone else does not agree with you or the studio wouldn't be too small. Good Luck. more

Joni Demarco is an outstanding dancer. As a teacher she has great potential. The unfortunate fact is that her mother has her hand in too many decisions. The dance studio is stuck in the 80's. There is no room for the dancers to grow. No one but Joni and her neice are allowed to perform solo's. The studio is too small and there isn't enough focus on technique. Recital preporation starts in November and still does not look porfessional by June. Anytime there is any concern expressed by a student or parent they have to speak to Joni's mother Joanne. Costumes are a hassle, the never fit anyone correctly and you can not pick them up untill the week of the recital, there is no dress rehearsal so the recital always looks sloppy. The stage is way to small for such large groups but she will not break the classes up smaller. Her prop takes up more of the stage then the students. Although the classes are reasonably priced, they make up for it by demanding every student were the exact same shoes which they sell. Students were required to buy duplicate shoes for class and performance. I do not reccommend this studio unless you want a hedache but constantly dealing with the unprofessional attitude of this family business. It seem all they care about is money.. more
