I've been going to John and Ann's pie shoppe since 2000, and never have had better pie. In 2006, ownership swiched from John and Ann to Suzie, their previous assistant, when they retired. It's still the same great place with the same great recipes, a true mom and pop. It's situated in a quaint house hidden away on 5th street in Katy. Lunch specials are affordable, you can eat in or get them to go. You get to choose between quiche and a salad or a sandwich and chips, tea or soda, and your choice of pie. I highly recommend chocolate pecan pie and coconut cream pie. Their pie crust is buttery and flaky (family secret) and fillings are delicious no matter what flavor you get. You can also buy a whole pie, but order way ahead for christmas or thanksgiving because they are VERY popular and due to the small nature of the buisness, they can only make so many pies per day. All in all, a must taste.
Pros: Scrumptious pie, small town friendliness, affordable lunch spot
Cons: limited hours (11-3 mon-sat) small capacity (about 20 people)
