I brought some friends from out of town who've heard the hype. It was nothing short of spectacular! Our server was Jorge who was a seasoned veteran and put the icing on on the cake! more

I'm happy I can cross Joe's off my list. Been wanting to go for a long time but was skeptical based on some reviews about the long wait time. We went on a Monday before 6 and was seated right away. The main area is bright and clean and service was spot on. The ambiance was great but the food was just okay for me. I rate a restaurant as great based on how many repeat visits they get from me. Not sure I'll be in a hurry to go back. Fried chicken was okay. Portion was huge and can be shared. Sides were nothing to write home about. Did not enjoy the creamed spinach or cole slaw. Our bill was reasonable as we had no wine or desserts and had the fried chicken (great price) with three sides. more

Outstanding! We were seated immediately at 6pm on a Thursday evening by a very nice hostess. Our waiter's name was Victor and he has worked at Joe's Stone Crab for over 25 years as marked by is crab lapel pin. He was very attentive and gave spot on suggestions. We started with two delicious Martini's and fantastic bread. We shared an appetizer of very reasonably priced one dozen fried oysters, too much for one person, lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. I had a huge portion of Ahi Tuna cooked rare which melted in my mouth. The portion was do large that I took one of the tuna steaks home for a snack the next day. My husband had the baked swordfish that was fresh, flaky and delicious. We shared a side of baked tomato topped with cheese. We ended the meal with their award winning Key Lime Pie and Tawny Port . Everything was fantastic including friendly attentive service. Don't miss this landmark Resturant! I highly recommend Joe's Stone Crab Resturant ! more

how bad does the food need to be for the crowds to final Go else where? It's hard to believe that Joe's has a crowd given how truly terrible and over priced the food is. Famous cold slaw ... Aint so famous. Stone crab sauce was disgusting. Spinach had so much garlic is was repulsive. \r It may be 57 years old ... But the time has come for the crowds to get smarter. Go away people ... Joes ain't what it used to be! more

Joe's is great but if you are short on time or want a casual experience the takeout (dine in or takeout) is wonderful and a great value! more

have never had a bad meal here, we go to take out side and eat 'stone crabs' and my wife loves them, I always get the 'lobster ruben' which is my favorite sandwich all time, get the sweet pot fries and you'll love the combo, get the dessert for the way home, enjoy more

A Miami institution and south beach icon Must try it and you won't be disappointed. The mussels are delic and believe it or not the fried chicken is amazing. Stone crab claws are pricey so manage your expectations. more

When you are looking for Stone Crabs there really is only one place to go and thats Joes. The atmosphere and service fit the old school restaurant but the stone crabs are the real thing. Second to none, always a great meal. Do lunch or early dinner to avoid the long waits. more

For the life of me I don't know why all these high-society people wait two to three hours to get into this place. Honestly, after eating there, I wouldn't go there if there was no wait. \r The stone crabs were good but not great and the side items were truly awful. When I say awful I mean awful- one could get better creamed spinach, hash browns, onion rings, etc. at a place a third of the price. The dessert again was nothing to write home about. I honestly have had better key lime pie at diners and the brownie sundae was not even as good as I could get at Outback Steahouse. \r At these exorbitant prices one could and should expect much better food and service frankly. At comparably priced restaurants, such as Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, etc. the food is much better and so is the service. One doesn't have to wait three hours to get in to have insanely overpriced, mediocre food. Sorry to say but anybody who is willing to wait three hours to get into this place for food clearly worse than all the competiton, in this price range, is a sucker! more

Great experience. I know Joe's is well known for its stone crab but don't overlook the mussels. OMG they are good. The service was very good the food was great and I would highly recommend. Be prepared for the wait but it's worth it. more

Not worth the $$$ 2/1/2012

We arrived early on a Sunday so we would not have a wait, which once opened we were seated immediately. That was the only good part. I waiter was less than enthusiastic and just truly cared about turning our table over. I have had better seafood elsewhere and our drinks (mojitos) which should be such an easy staple to make for South Beach were less than good. VERY disappointed! Would not go back. Your money is better spent for a cheaper and better dinner at the Ritz Carlton, not to mention better view and trip over themselves service! more
