Joe's Place

The food was horrible!! The place looked dirty and the staff was, well not so appealling. I ordered a baked Lasagna that was obivously a "frozen Lasagna" that was microvaed instead of "baked". When it got to my table I started to eat it and it was warm on the outer edges but after about two bites...the center was still frozen!!! My husband got a sampler of appetizers and they were aweful. I could have done better cooking them at home. It was also all frozen stuff that came out of a box at the grocery store!! Have you ever seen the movie Summer Rental, when the family gets to the old restuarant that is run by the pirate scully, and they served Scully's catches of the day...then they cut to a picture of the old man grabbing frozen dinners out of a freezer and heating them up? This is what I thought of while eating at this restaruant. Then not to mention the prices are extremely high. We got our bill and it was 30.09!!!! For frozen dinners! UGH!!!Needless to say that we will NOT be going back to Joe's place. Horrible!!! Waste of time and money! more

Joe's Place is not so good. It's located on North Lafayette Street in the vicinity of the City Cafe. I have gone there twice, and I won't go back. There have been many owners in the past, and I think something must be wrong for the change to be so many. It may not have been so many different owners, but it keeps changing menus and employees. I ahve many friends who have all tried this place, and they all say the same thing. They don't like it. They don't like the food or service. However, I do understand they have a good bar. more

I have only gone to Joe's Place once and that was enough. The bartender was our server even though we were sitting at a table that was not the "bar." That was the first turn off. Then the server really was weird. He kept repeating things, interrupting us, acting as if we each had two heads. Finally when we were satisified he understood, he starts again not understanding. And, the strangest thing was nothing we got was "special." The food itself was ok, but not at all what you'd expect in a restaurant like Joe's Place. We won't be back. more
