There is NOTHING good that came out of my experience with JobPro in Glastonbury, CT.
After I had applied to JobPro, I received a phone call from them to come in for an interview at 10am the next day. Had I have known about the experience i was about to go through, i would have never even wasted my time!
First off, they had about 8 of us cramped into an area with 4 chairs. Let alone, they told me to arrive for an interview at 10:00am, but i never even spoke with the interviewee until 11:15am, and for only literally 3 min because she was having surgery the next day...!!! After the so-called "interview", they had me go into a small backroom and use the most grimy, unsanitary computer I have ever seen to do some elementary math exam. (3+2=?, 5-1=? and so on...) After that I spent 15min on another exam... How to read a ruler?!?!?
Did I mention that I have 2 degrees and some experience under my belt.....
I have been looking for a job for some time now, and have had no luck, so I figured I would at least persue any possibility I could grasp. The "interviewee" that I got stuck with could only find two jobs for me. One at a factory making $8/hr, or another about 40 min away making $10/hr. I agreed to visit the job the following day to see if it was something I was willing to do. Upon visiting the job, I found out that it was a mandatory 60hr a week. I was excited to work the extra overtime to help pay a few bills, but standing in one place folding the same pattern into a cardboard box at 10 hrs a day, 6 days a week was not something I had planned to do after graduating from business school. I called JobPro and told them that I was not interested in working there.
This is when it got worse.... While sitting through the painful interview process at JobPro, I heard many times that JobPro would never pressure you to take a job that you were not interested in. Just simply tell them that your not interested and they will begin looking for a new job. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!
After telling JobPro that I was not interested in taking that job and I would like them to help me in the search, I received three phone calls. Each one was from "Jen". She was curious as to why I was not interested in the job. The first two times I told "Jen" that I did not go to business school and obtain two business degrees to stand in a factory folding boxes at $8/hr for 60hrs a week. I thought that by this point "Jen" would have understood that i was not interested in working there. But, of course "Jen" called a third time the next day for no other reason than to harass me because I was not interested in taking the job. Jen said that I was "ethically against working for any company that requires employees to work overtime" and then she started laughing at the fact that I have been looking for a job for ovr 8 months! "Jen" was literally laughing.... I was floored when she put those words in my mouth, than furious when she started laughing at me. I told "Jen" that I did not appreicate her laughing at me, and that is when "Jen" went off the deep end. She became irrate screaming at me, telling me that I was "dumb for not taking the job" and that there are "plenty of people looking for jobs that JobPro would much rather help." All this because I told her that I did not find the situation funny.
To make a long story short..... DO NOT think JobPro is here to help you. They obviosly have a hidden agenda to make profits and not provde the service they promote.
Pros: There are no pro's here
Cons: Rude people (Jen), poor time management, unethical,
