Horrible. My daughter got a color and it was way toooo dark. I think it was colleen???Be very specific when being lured by specials, read the fine print. Got charged $108 for their $68 special. I stopped going a couple years ago, but tried to give them another chance. Never again. more

Lennon was amazing. He created an awesome style and colored and highlighted my hair. The color actually made my hair healthier and is VIBRANT!!! Everyone has been asking me where I got my hair done. Three CHEERS to JKS!!! You got to try it more

I love JKS!!! I get amazing service everytime. My stylist finally talked me into getting their Smoothing Treatment a couple of months back and I couldn't be happier. My hair is baby fine and bleached so I was scared but my hair has never been in better shape and it's soooo easy to fix in the morning. \r \r It's really sad that so many people (ex stylists, other salons) have nothing better to do than post negative stuff about such wonderful place. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have won as many awards as they have unless they were top notch. more

TERRIBLE!!!! 11/9/2011

I had highlights and a cut done there yesterday. It was the worst experience I have EVER had. My only request for my highlights was more golden than platinum. My highlights were golden at the crown and WHITE everywhere else. When I questioned her the reply was ""We will fix that next time"". After 4 hours of my time, I left on the verge of tears. The cut was fantastic.....on one side of my head. I had to go home and put on a hat until I could get to Sally's for an at home fix. I did not want to complain at the salon because frankly I would rather shave my head than go back there for anything!!!! more

Worst service of my life. Adrian did my hair. Her station was a mess, the comb was filthy and had hair in it and she smelled of cigarettes and alcohol. I'll never go back more

IM NOT AT BASSWOOD ANYMORE, IF YOU NEED TO GET IN TOUCH CALL ME AT 817.305.3204. And marilyn, i shouldve had you sign a contract stating that you, as a dark haired hispanic latina, you wanted to be platinum blonde overnight. correct me if im wrong but you did say, ""IF IM PAYING THIS MUCH MONEY THEN I SHOULD BE GETTING WHAT I PAY FOR!!!"". for platinum blonde highlights on a dark haired hispanic woman. i consulted w/ you for atleast 30min prior to mixing the color and you were adament on that platinum blonde. so...i did it unwillingly. after i talked to two other stylists about what you wanted and how you didnt want to listen, they said 'go ahead and do it since she isnt listening'. im sorry you didnt get what you want but sometimes people that are hardheaded dont like to listen. and trust me, im one of em'. anyone else...i NO LONGER work at or for JKS. if you need to contact me, call me on my cell and leave me a detailed message. 817.305.3204 more

Worst Salon BE AWARE 5/16/2010

I WENT IN TO GET HIGHLIGHTS CUT AND STYLE NO ONE HAS EVER DAMAGED MY HAIR AS BAD AS CHANCE. HIS NAME SAYS IT ALL.\r I MADE AN APPOINTMENT BASED ON THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS. I TELL YOU DON'T BELEIVE THE HYPE!!!\r HE IS TERRIBLE. THE ENTIRE STAFF IS RUDE UNFRIENDLY AND UNPROFESSIONAL . Greatness!!! 3/16/2010

I have been going to this salon for almost two years now. I go almost every four weeks. Chance is awesome! I went to him one day when my usual stylist didnt show and I have had the best color and cuts I have ever had. Love it! Pros: Perfectionists when it comes to your hair! Cons: Nothing more

Great Salon 8/25/2009

I have seen Chance at the Basswood location 2 times so far (a third time is schduled for this Thursday) and I could not be happier. He's a fantastic stylist and I recommend him to everyone who asks where I get my hair cut. The staff has always been friendly everytime I've been in there. My only (very minor) complaint was the price I had to pay for an eyebrow waxing. The guy (not Chance) didn't shape them or anything - just waxed the bottom and barely plucked the top. Definitely not worth the $10-$12 I paid. I will be going back to my nail salon for brow waxing. If you want a great cut, though, go see Chance. Cheers! Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Nothing more

Worst experience 9/23/2008

Worst experience ever! I went in May to get a new look. I asked about a bodywave/perm. The stylists said no problem. I have thin hair so I was worried about it to begin with but I agreed. Now it's been a few months and the hair on the very front of my head was completley burned off. I had hair in great condition with no bleach or anything in it. The ends look dead and fried. I have gone and gotten a few consults since and other salons say my hair is completley damaged all around... I do not recommend going to JKS Salons. I expected so much more being a high end salon and such.. more

Betsy is the BEST! 5/29/2008

I chose to make an appointment with Betsy after reading the great reviews right here. I went in and got a great cut. I told her that I needed something easy and fast as I was in my first trimester of pregnancy and did not want anything that would require a great deal of time. My hair is fairly short, VERY THIN, and generally does not do much. But she recommended a great cut. I told her that I would be back during my second trimester to get a perm. I went back and she not only did a great job on perming my thin lifeless hair, but she even remembered who I was and that I was expecting!!! I am headed into my third trimester and will be making another appointment to see her soon. I am very glad that I read the reviews here and decided to make an appointment with Betsy. I am a customer for life now!!!!! Pros: Betsy is WONDERFUL!!!! Cons: Smocks arent big enough to fit pregnant woman! :) more

Horrible haircolor 5/20/2008

I went to the salon in Burleson and was not very happy with hair service. The front desk people were great and very attentive. My hair dresser talked me out of a body wave because they did not have the rods for my hair. So she suggested to add highligts, since I figured I was at an ""upscale"" salon I figured she knew what would go with my color. I did not want to go to light. I have very thin hair on top so I was concerned once the foils came out. The color was so light I looked like I had a bald spot on my head. \r When I got home I called the salon and they offered ot correct the color but I had to make another appt. There was no way I could get back in on Saturday. I requested at least a third in refund since I did agree with the haircutt and they said they couldnt do that. I requested a call back from the manager...well its been 3 days and no call back. Cons: Customer Service more

Excellent Service 4/28/2008

My daughter and I went to JKS Salon on Saturday 4/26/08. It was our first visit there. The original stylist we were booked with had to change our appt. and we were put with another stylist, Ami. This was the best haircut I have ever had. I have short/medium length hair and she spent an hour shampooing, cutting and styling my hair. She was very meticulous and did a wonderful job. My 15 year old daughter who has thick long hair was there for a highlight and cut. Ami spent almost 3 hours making sure her hair was perfect and that my daughter was satisfied. I cannot recommend Ami highly enough. It is nice having someone who really takes the time to find out exactly what you want then also takes the time to do it. Hair stylist there are great. I have been with four girls there, and loved them all. Great color and cuts! Salon is very nice and clean. Manager and front staff are my only complaints... often very rude. Manager complaints in front of customers to her staff, very unprofessional. Betsy is the best! 10/24/2007

I've been getting my hair cut by Betsy at the Basswood location for the last year and she is AMAZING. She understands my hair, which can be a mess sometimes! She pays attention to what she is doing and what will (and won't) work with my hair -- rather than people who just stick any random cut on your head. Betsy fixed my mom's hair after someone burned a perm on it, and she also cuts my three sisters' hair -- and did everyone's hair for one of their weddings! I just just got a different cut last week and have gotten -- literally -- a dozen compliments on it already. Betsy's great! Pros: Betsy is the best! Cons: Front desk staff can be rude. more
