ive been taking my volvo to jim for about the last 2 years, its and older volvo but its all i can afford, and i love it. jim is very honest, and you can tell he knows these german and european cars like the back of his hand.\r i definetely recommend going to jims german auto, i have never had a bad experience there, sometimes its pricey but if you have a car that you appreciate you shouldnt mind paying to get it fixed right more

I have been going to Jim's German Auto in Corona for several years now and have always had great and professional service. Jim and his staff are professional, experienced and kind. The costs are extremely reasonable and Jim has always been honest with me about my car. For the people who may have had a different experience you have to realize that Jim has always done his best and is not a miracle worker. I had a car I took to him previously that was just on its last leg. Its hard to hear but it is reality. Jim keep doing the wonderful work you are doing. as a women going auto repair shops can sometimes be a little scary, because allot of shops will try to lie to you and sell you services you dont need, at jims the mechanic showed me what was wrong with my mercedes C230 and explained it in a way that i could understand, i trust them and recommend them more

I have them regularly service my Mercedes and Audi and am a very satisfied customer. They are very competent, honest, reasonably priced and customer oriented. Just look at the clean shop they run and it speaks for itself. more

Factory-trained, competent. Not really cheap - comes with the brands they specialize on - but reasonably priced and below the respective dealer repair cost. Quick estimates and turnaround. Patient in explaining problems and giving the information of what is necessary and what is advisable to have done. Friendly to boot. more

The shop is very clean and nice. They provide coffee while you wait. The front of the shop is run very professionally. And they guys in the back are very personable and more than happy to discuss what's going on with you. The work I had done on my Audi was very good and done very promptly. Their prices are so reasonable that I actually had to ask them if they had charged me for everything. I couldn't believe the fairly major repair work I had done would be so reasonably priced. I will always go here to have any work done. more

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Rude and RIP OFF!!! 2/20/2013

Funny only positive reviews all mention not a RIP Off!!! \r Almost like they wrote the only positive reviews. BUYERS BEWARE!!!$700.00 later and 3 trips my car was never fixed. I went to Mercedes dealer and they got it right the first time. They are rude especially when you question what they are doing. There are other shops in the area take your car elsewhere unless you too want to be ripped off. I can promise you any car there for anything more complex than an oil change will not be repaired properly. \r They thru every sensor under the sun at the car but the problem was the manifold. There fix was reset check engine light and throw a few sensors a it. So they say but I highly doubt that was done even. Robert C more

Jim curses at customers 8/30/2012

My worst experience with any business in my life. First time an owner of a business actually used foul language towards me. There is just no excuse to curse at your customer, and this is after I've paid him $650 for service. Obviously Jim is very unfriendly along with the lady in the front desk. First time I walked in, she didn't even have the courtesy to look up at me. She continued looking at her paperwork while asking me what's wrong with my car.\r \r I feel I was over charged and they did a sloppy job at putting the car back together after the repair. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In addition, they didn't even honor their own $25 discount. According to them, you must mention it up front and it cannot be used if you've negotiated a discount. All I know is that it didn't say that on the coupon. more

Exceptional Work 10/4/2010

Jim is a genuine person and is not there to rip you off. Although the lady at the counter can be rude, Jim's service is worth going back for with any vehicle you own. He tells you what is and what's going on, an exact quote to make the needed repairs, and the only thing that seems to matter to him is that YOU know HIS PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS in any vehicle is exceptionally sharp. His reputation for service and repairs on cars you will definitely see for yourself that he treats your car like his own. more

Very good history 10/16/2009

I've been having my cars repaired at Jim's for a number of years and have always been comfortable with their service and I really feel that Jim is trustworthy. When I thought I had to go to the dealership for a big repair, Jim advised me about what I should do and he saved me a great deal of money. I don't know if he's more expensive than other shops, as one reviewer said, but the confidence I have in this shop, and the fact that they always keep my car running, is very important to me. And they couldn't possibly be more costly than going to a dealership! He's even made minor repairs for me at no charge at all. And his wife, who works in the office is very nice! Pros: I feel I can trust them more

You get what you pay for 6/2/2009

I will only take my Volvo to Jim. I have been using them for over 10 years. They have saved me and my friends a lot of money and problems. What I don't get is do you want a great mechanic or a bad mechanic with good customer service skills? He has found me hard to find parts at a fraction of what they normally cost. He has also done some of the best work on Ford pickup. If you expect Jlube cost, expect Jlube results. Would you do that to your own Family ??? more

Horrible - would not recommend! 9/25/2008

Called as a potential new ongoing customer with the purchase of my first (pre-owned) VW. The lady who answered was totally unfriendly, condescending, and obviously uninterested in getting new customers or providing even a decent level of customer service. Seemed like she hated her job, hated people, or was plain unhappy as a person. Wanted to charge me $96 to rack the car up to visually see if there was a gasket or other leak that was causing some occassional odor in the car. Ridiculous. Far from a feel good experience that would warrant me wanting to do business with these people. more

Good, honest mechanics. 7/27/2005

Jim's German Auto has been in Corona for, well, almost as long as I have. That's a long time. Jim does do more than just German cars; on his card he lists Mercedes Benz, Volkswagon, Porsche, Volvo, BMW. Shuttle service is available, too. You will pay a little more going to Jim's, but you won't get ripped off. In fact, Jim's sometimes goes a little farther than needed with the repairs just to make sure everything is working right, at no extra cost. A small family run shop with friendly people, Jim's German Auto gets a solid recommendation PROS: They know what they're doing and they won't rip you off. CONS: A little pricey. more
