Great Subs 3/9/2006

I love Jimmy John's! Their subs are delicious and served on chewy fresh bread. They have cute names for all their sandwiches. The potato chips are kettle cooked - my favorite! It's a great place to have a quick lunch. Their deli meats and cheese seem really fresh. The first thing you'll smell when you walk in is freshly baked bread. more

Nice Alternative to Subway 1/13/2006

If you are looking for an alternative to Subway at approximately the same price, check out Jimmy John's. Jimmy John's is not as popular as the chain subway stores (i.e. Subway, Quizno's), but they have expanded quite a bit since I first started hearing about them in 2000. I went to this particular store recently just to see if they've changed at all in the past five years. I ordered one of their larger subs (10 inches) with Roast Beef and cheese. Needless to say, they are even better now than they used to be. They give you a choice from among 15 subs or so...smaller ones are 8 inches and the larger ones are 10 inches. You also don't have as much of a variety in "extras" and actual types subs but then JJ's makes up for it in freshness and taste. I read they slice their meats daily and their salad is fresh as well. For "extras" they have their own brand of potato chip in various flavors and I noticed they make fresh cookies too. All in all a decent value for your money for you can get a decent meal for under $10 which is great for downtown Chicago. more
