We were given the bait and switch. They list a car at a fair price and assured me it was still in stock, to get you to come to the dealership. Also, to follow up on the last post the sales manager held the key to our trade in even after we bought a car..intentional??. Just as any car buying experience If you are educated in what you are looking for and have a "smart phone" handy to dispute any Kelly Blue Book dealership sale logic, and work with real numbers they will work with you. The day started sceptical and ended with "near new" car. all in all the experience was rather short and pleasent.. more

I and my family have purchased over 10 cars from Jim Barnard Chevrolet over the past 15 years. They are alway friendly and low pressure, and the price is always great right upfront without all the screwing around other places do. Certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal without all the bs of the bigger dealers. more

I and my family have purchsed new and used cars at Jim Barnard Chevrolet for over 20 years. They always treat me with respect, don't waste my time, and I always get a great deal. I read the first review posted here and was puzzled. I think the reviewer was having a bad day or is from another dealership just trying to trash them. I was in the market to buy a particular model car and saw an ad in the paper that seemed reasonable. (Worst mistake of my life.) It started off innocent enough with a test drive and an obviously inflated sticker price. We did like the vehicle it had a descent amount of the features we were looking for. The horror began when we went to ""discuss numbers"". Our salesperson gave us a price that was too high, so we made an offer that immediately was scoffed at. We decided to wait on the purchase and attempted to leave. YES I mean attempted. The manager emerged from his office obviously irate because we had WASTED his time. We were called rude customers even though I was more polite than the manager himself. He belittled us in front of the entire sales staff. At one point he even asked my girlfriend what she did for a living as if to imply it was not important or reputable. While this is all going on I repeatedly asked for the keys to my trade in car which he withheld for over 20 minutes. Suffice to say we barely got out alive. The manager was rude, pompous, unprofessional and seemingly just the worst kind of person. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY OR EVEN SHOP at this dealer, it's shady. The manager even followed us out to our car to yell at us some more for apparently wasting his time before we could escape. PS. The salesperson had asked for the keys to my trade in so that the manager could ""look it over"" while we talked numbers. He proceeded to take it for a drive even though I never gave him authorization to drive it. Now immediately after driving off the lot, it is making a loud clunking noise at all speeds. Perhaps this was just coincidence but Im placing my money on the dealer's mistreatment of the car. Unless you want to be harassed and belittled stay away from Jim Barnard Chevrolet!!! Pros: not a single thing Cons: bad prices, and grotesque management more
