Dr. Jason Birkel is originally from Portland, Oregon.
He completed his undergraduate training in Environmental Science at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University. Following his degrees, he completed a three-year residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center Pinnacle Health program in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Birkel joined 1Foot 2Foot in 2022, after three years in practice on the Peninsula. He specializes in wound care, amputation prevention, and sports medicine.
