Best of Vegas is RIGHT ON THE MONEY! 4/20/2008

Having lived inThailand for several years working as a cook, we have found it really hard to find ""real"" Thai food in Las Vegas. The Hyped up readers-reviews only led us down the familiar path of disappointment. We discovered Jasmine from the Review Journal's Staff pick for Best of Vegas. We figured the staff at the local newspaper must have a ""valid"" opinion. They were right on the money! Finally a Thai restaurant that follows traditional Thai recipes and flavors. We didn't order Pad Thai, thats like judging an Italian restaurant based on spaghetti. Instead we went for the ""Thai Jungle menu"" which was authentic Essan Style (my wife's specialty) and the staff recommendation of the Chaing Mai style Roasted Duck Curry. That is Thai, a little spicy (not taste deadening like the hyped Thai places) and freshly prepared sauces of ginger, lime, cilantro & coconut. Besides the food being the headliner, the atmosphere took us back. Not the traditional Asian eatery we were expecting. We dined in a dim-lit, romantic restaurant with quiet jazz music filling the air. The attentive staff was knowledgable on every item, from the wines to the deserts! Very impressive! They also were very attentive to our needs without being overbearing (similar to the Thai hospitality in their native country.) since our visit we have returned on several occasions & tried most of the menu items. They even catered an Event at our office which won over the entire staff (even our picky secretary that vowed not to eat Thai because it was ""hot""). Thank you, Jasmine, for brining our recollection of the real Thai experience to Las Vegas. You deserve the recognition of Best of Vegas! Pros: The food, service and atmosphere Cons: Location in West Las Vegas more

We tested and JASMINE has won - BEST OF VEGAS THAI 3/2/2008

The BEST Thai ln Las Vegas? Forget the advertised banners and marketing ""best of"" gimmicks. Do your own test and see for yourself! Real Authentic Thai! We have tried other so called Thai restaurants only to be rushed through a sugar-laced spicy dinner and sent on our way! Jasmine has a quiet, romantic atmosphere with a relaxing feel. Jazz music playing in the background, a service staff that is attentive without being intrusive and the dining experience that shows Jasmine's intention of allowing the customer to enjoy themselves instead of being rushed along to fill up the table again! Although the service and ambiance is top notch for Asian restaurants, the food is what keeps us coming back, almost weekly! Freshly prepard meals cooked to our liking (spicy or not) and presented beautifly with a fresh flower. We compared our favorite dishes at other Thai places just to see the difference. Now we are convinced that Jasmine does has the BEST ann most AUTHENTIC Thai food. We suggested to our friends & collegues to do their own taste test. All of our friends and office mates have concurred: Jasmine Wins BEST of VEGAS in Thai Food! Pros: Food, ambiance, presentation and service Cons: Not the best location hidden in the southwest neighborhoods more

Vegas' top Asian cafe! 12/1/2007

I have tried the ""others"" but to no avail! The asian restaurants of Las Vegas are either over-priced glamor spots tucked inside our casinos or they are a cheapend, sugar-laced attempt at what they call ""authentic."" Thai is Thai, people. Get it right! Pros: beautiful atmosphere, exceptional service, the food (of course) Cons: get a reservation or wait, hard to see from the street more

Best Thai in the City 11/11/2007

I tried this place for the first time last year. Now I won't eat Thai anywhere else in the city. The dishes are exceptionally prepared. None of that greasy or oily textures that some Asian foods can acquire. They only use white meats for poultry and thier beef and pork and USDA quality. No cheap cuts or preparation here. The sauces are well prepared and when they say ""Spicy"" it doesn't mean White person spicy. Be aware that this food is HOT if you ask for it that way. If you order delivery service they package the sauces seperately so that you can add it after you receive it so that you vegetables and meats don't become soggy. I love their food. I highly recommend the House Noodles. The place is very clean, the service polite and on time and they don't hang around the table bugging you. 5 Stars! Pros: Never a long wait. Always clean. Service is always exceptional. Cons: Nada. more

You won't find a better Thai Restaurant in Las Vegas 3/5/2007

Food always very good. Service great. Place is very nice and clean. Pretty romanti also. It will take you quite a few trips to Jasmine to try all of their great dishes. My wife and I love their soups and the fish cake is the best we have found anywhere. The protions a very generous and they have a great wine list which is a very nice to find at a Thai restaurant. If you like HOT make sure you tell them to kick it up! We like hot and always make sure they understand that! On a 1-10 the 9 seems to work great for us. Jasmine is not very far from the strip also. I hope you enjoy your trip to Jasmine as much as we do. After 3 or 4 years of dining at Jasmine we always look forward to going back again. more
