Janice's Critter Care

Tim & Janice have been watching our pets for 10 years now. They not only take care of feeding & exercising our dogs (mostly Newfoundlands, but we got a Rottie mix last year to add something new!), they bring in the mail and check the houseplants to see if they need water. Even better, they are able to look after our chickens when we are gone; managing their food, water and treats and giving them a little time and human conversation while gathering eggs. Our four hens are my "Birds with Benefits" and I would not trust them alone or with someone who would scare them and cause them to stop laying those delicious eggs. Janice was supposed to be checking on our pets from Friday evening to Sunday morning.  When we got home Sunday evening we noticed that three of our four cats were missing.  We found two of them outside and the outside enclosure open.  We have camera's all around our property.  On reviewing the footage we saw that the wind had blown the gate open.  At about 7pm we saw our cats go out.  Janice's people showed up at about 8 pm.  We know while they were at the house two cats were out for sure.  We see one disappear at about 1am Saturday morning and never reappear on any of our cameras.  On their other visits we know for sure the one was missing and on two of the three visits at least one other cat was outside.  Yet their report says all cats OK.  If they would have called us Friday night on their first visit that some cats were unaccounted for we could have been home in time to catch the one cat before he left our property.  I would not trust this service with your animals.  I think they just show up, put out some food, clean the boxes and leave.  They do not really check on your animals.  DO NOT USE!!!  On top of everything they have shown no concern that we are missing a family member that we trusted with them!! more

I have been using Janice's Critter Care for over two years now. First as a cat sitting service when I was gone on holiday and then for her daily dog walking service and doggy daycare after I got my lovable Corgi. She and her staff are reliable, flexible and friendly. They treat me and my pets with the utmost respect and care. If you need a one-time sitter or daily visits I highly recommend Janice's Critter Care for the job! :) more

Janice and her sitters have taken care of our cats several times now while we were away on vacation. They do a really good job and are very reliable. We feel very good about leaving our cats in her care and would recommend them to anyone. They are also very reliable in the call backs when we need to talk to them. Their rates are very reasonable as well. Janice herself is a very nice woman who obviously loves animals and takes very good care of them, hers or not. more

Janice has cared for my cats for years, both when I traveled a lot on business and when on vacation. She is wonderful with the kitties, is extremely reliable and experienced. I never had to worry a bit when I was gone. She leaves great detailed notes on each visit, which is something I really appreciated. I also never had to worry about my kitties healthwise because she takes care of administering medications and is very observant of their behavior, watching for any signs of illness. Her love for animals is obvious and she treats them like they're your children, which they are to me. I recommend her highly. more

I took my dog there once because I had a really long day at work and received a coupon in the mail for the dog sitting service and thought I would give it a try. The employees didn't seem to happy when we arrived and that should have been my first clue, but I really needed to go to work. The set up didn't seem too dog friendly and my dog was very happy to see me when I came to pick her up. From now on I'll rather leave her in the yard all day instead of taking her there. more
