Recently I was on vacation in Miami. I went to Coconut Grove to eat dinner. First we had chosen to go to the Cheesecake factory. After 1 hour wait, and an astonishing bad response from the manager we decided to go elsewhere.(We were quoted a 20 minute wait for a start, waited 1 hour, then the manager tells me his staff was overloaded. I ask him why were there some empty booths where we could be accommodated and he says he could not make the staff serve in a different station other than their assigned one!! - WOW! )
To my better luck we ended up walking down the main street and found this incredible neighborhood gem of a restaurant. We were greeted courteously, seated promptly, served with much pride by the waiters. The food was incredibly good. Our waiter -Miguel- suggested a wonderful ceviche (The tuna with soy and ginger) to me, and the rest of my party was also very pleased with their plate choices. The price is probably comparable to The Cheesecake factory, but the food quality and presentation way better. Not to mention the atmosphere.
I was so happy we had a bad experience with the Cheesecake factory because it lead us to a unique place with soul !!
Lesson repeatedly learned: Your neighborhood restaurant will always give you better value for your buck and spirits than a chain restaurant. !!
