I started seeing Alan at a time when I was about to give up on an important relationship. At that time, my partner had several family issues that were beginning to negatively effect us and cloud our communication. I wasn't sure that these issues were healthy for me to be a part of and didn't want to feel as though I was 'putting myself last' by waiting around for them to resolve themselves. After meeting with Alan, my partner and I both set realistic, achievable goals for our relationship. Alan helped us to better understand the other person's point of view so we could communicate honestly and begin moving forward.
