Best spa treatment anywhere in Denver 10/12/2008

The flu prevention treatment which includes the banya treatment is TDF. Going from the craziness of the office downtown to Izba is like being transported to a different planet. It's truly mood altering in fabulous way. Pros: Best spa treatment in Denver Cons: No locker room for changing if you need to go out directly from the spa more

No place like it in these United States! 10/7/2006

During the five years I spent in Denver, my bi-weekly visits to Izba Spa were truly life changing and affirming. Stress relief is Izba Spa. In the 3 years since leaving Denver, I have lived from coast to coast, and nothing compares with Izba Spa. One of the reasons that I will be moving back to Denver, Co in the future is because of Izba Spa. Treat yourself to the ultimate in stress release and relaxation. Oh, and it is marvelous for mature skin!! Pros: The Best Cons: Only in Denver, CO more

Journey to far away Russia 11/4/2002

When you walk into their York and Colfax location, it's like walking directly into Russia. The woodwork, art and small details transport you instantly to another world. When you begin your Banya treatment, you might even begin to believe that Scotty can actually beam you up!! Since my first introduction to Finnish saunas in the early 60s in Squaw Valley, I've been looking for the best experience including steam, massage, and herbs. At Izba I found it. The therapists are expert at the banya style treatments (I know! I studied with them!) and also treat many of the Colorado Avalanche players. The tea and fruit in the waiting area after receiving the full 2 hour treatment helps prepare for re-entry into life in Denver, but the feeling of relaxtion and relief lingers long after. GO!! ENJOY!!! Pros: Quality Massage, Unique Atmosphere, Convenient location more

Russkie Rub 7/25/2002

I am quite the spa connoisseur and believe me when I tell you that JUST because everyone CLAIMS that the "trendy" spas are the best, you should not rush to make a reservation. The Izba Spa (on Colfax and York) is one of THE BEST spas I have ever been to...it is dark, mellow, TOTALLY relaxing - not to mention inexpensive and the guys there are AWESOME and VERY good at what they do. I say STEER CLEAR of the mainstream spas and you will be glad you did. Pros: Relaxing, Original, quality more

  • In Short
Deep in the basement, this small spa offers authentic Russian-style relaxation. Each therapy room is equipped with a hot tub (about 105 degrees), steam room (even hotter), shower and massage table. Classic treatments start with a 10- to 15-minute soak, followed by a Swedish-like massage. Next, the banya: Lie in the steam room, while the therapist dashes water on hot stones to build heat, brushes and thumps your body with oak boughs, then finish with a honey rub.
