Ivana's Trunk

My firm advice: SKIP IVANA. Unprofessional, unorganized experience. I had a gut instinct when they arrived to pick up the furniture. And you know you should always follow such intuition. My daughter moved after the abrupt loss of her spouse, and consigned a very expensive set of furniture with Vicki. The very young boys who picked up the furniture from my home had no moving blankets, I provided my own blankets to them (never returned) in hopes the quality items were not damaged on arrival, they were just put into a truck, no straps either. One young boy had an asthma onset while picking the items up from my home. There was no physical agreement sent out, as promised, after multiple calls on my daughter's behalf, and upon receipt of the check for the items, we were all in shock at the price the items sold for. We could have sold it on craiglist. My daughter called to discuss her disappointment, and Vicki was less than personable, defensive and cold. There was a lack of acceptance of the lack of communication and actually blamed my daughter for not asking for that paper consignment agreement never sent out by Ivana's/Vicki. I am saddened that a small business owner would behave so cruelly and defensively - and actually shift blame/responsibility on the other person. This is just bad business practices. Promises are made, but definite customer no-service right here, especially if you question the anything. My daughter was definitely taken advantage of. I am not sorry to share this reality, as no one else should have this upset happen. more

Not only a great selection and friendly staff, but I was surprised how big this place is! It took me over an hour to just look at everything. Ivana has an amazing selection, no matter what your niche is. more

Absolutely my favorite consignment shop in the Milwaukee area. The owner is very honest and trustworthy and great to work with. I have been a consigner for the last year and a half and continue to be impressed. more

This business does absoilutely nothing that they say they will do. Never received a promised contract (one year). Called me and said most items would not sell and they were donating. Offerred to send tax form for wrie-off. Never received. Have called twice an have not received. more

My husband and I were doing a little tour of the antique shops around Milwaukee. Was very excited to stumble upon Ivana's. Loads of good finds. Very helpful and kind staff. Highly recommend it!! more

If this is the Vicki G. that I unfortunately dealt with a few years back, she found me through my local rummage sale and took two boxes of items to ""sell"". Two items were to be sold on commission on EBay. I never heard anything and she took the items ( which were worth several hundred dollars). I want them back or the money! The two boxes of collectibles my daughter had to retrieve from her ""shop"" on the south end of Milwaukee was a mess and nobody working there knew where anything was. I sent my signed list of goods with and NEVER received a check for what was sold. Sellers, please DO NOT DO business or you may be out everything too. BEWARE is right! Please check out her past before consigning anything and good luck getting paid. Pros: only to buyers Cons: This woman has been thieving for years more

Last Summer I was at Ozauakee's Best Butcher Shop, Haus of Prime, and stumbled upon Ivana's Trunk. Now two of Ozaukee's best are next door to one another, Best Butcher Shop and Best Consignment Shop. \r \r My wife and I have had great experiences with Ivana's. We've sold a number of things quickly, and also purchased a number of exciting, rare finds. The owner is almost always there and is exceptionally friendly and easy to deal with. \r \r Ivana's Trunk is my number 1 recommendation for Consignment Store in Thiensville. more

When my father passed, my sisters and I took many of dad's ""collections"" to Ivana's. Vicky was very helpful and very knowledgeable about pricing things appropriately. The shop is in a high-traffic location in a very affluent community, so within six weeks almost all of dad's stuff had sold.\r \r Vicky took a lot of stress out of what was already a very difficult time for our family. I would be extremely cautious of items you take in here. Please be sure to keep track YOURSELF of what sells and doesn't sell. Very important to pick up unsold items after 120 days. I went in to get my items, some of which were very expensive and lots left over, and low and behold Vicky had ""donated"" everything with no receipts to document the donation! I had no recourse and lost out on quite a bit of money. I would highly recommend Legacies in Fox Point instead. It would have been nice had she called to inform me she was going to do this before doing so. HMMMM! more
