I live in St. John's and was so thrilled to find a Doggy Day Care in St. John's. Linda, the owner, is wonderful with the animals. She is kind and compassionate and very helpful....

St. Johns is where I work and play. I frequent the racquet-ball center behind the It's a dogs life building. While pulling into the parking-lot I couldn't help but notice a tall,...

This Doggie Daycare gets a 10+ 2/28/2007

I boarded my dogs at It's A Dog's Life for several days and overnights. Not only was this an infinitely better experience than being at a kennel, my dogs got exceptional personal attention from the employees, above and beyond the call of duty. My ailing 14 year old dog had a veterinary problem: the owner personally took her to the vet, called me with frequent updates, adminstered multiple eyedrops and medications, and brought a cot from home so as to spend the night with the dog. During the night, she set an alarm clock and took the dog out every two hours. She hand-fed a picky eater, laundered soiled beds, and put on clean sweaters. The dogs played and played, and whine with desire every time they pass the facility window. I have never been so confident of my dogs' safety and wellbeing while I was out of town, than I was with this experience. I will absolutely go back. I offered the facility extra money for their efforts, and they wouldn't take it. A++ It's A Dog's Life!!!\r \r \r Signed,\r \r Happy Dogmom on Sauvie Island\r \r more

Did not have a good experience 2/8/2006

I boarded my dog there once - he was nervous and piddled on the floor when the owner came over to take him to the back. She freaked out and started SCREAMING which made him go more, and she made a HUGE deal of it and accused my dog of not being housebroken (he is) and insinuated I was dishonest about that. I mean, I know it sucked and I was embarrased, but this IS a doggie daycare - I gotta expect similar things have happened before. I didn't like the way she interacted with the dogs, and she was fake-nice to me. Plus, her labs (kept in the front) repeatedly growled at my dog, and she kept telling me they didn't mean it, but my poor pup certainly wasn't happy about that either. Pros: nice facility, convenient hours Cons: owner high stress, owner's dogs growl, bad atmosphere more
