There Ain't No Party, Like An IRON DOOR Party...The Historic Iron Door Saloon in not only the oldest continuosly operating bar in California, it's known to people from all over the world as the place to party when visiting the Yosemite Area.
Located on Highway 120, 24 miles from the main gate of Yosemite National Park, Big Oak Flat Entrance, in the historic mining town of Groveland, CA. Built in 1850, and filled with historic memorabilia, this saloon is currently owned by Barsotti Family, and ran by Chris Low and his beautiful wife Corinna (Barsotti) Low.
They serve the best food on the mountain, courtesy of The Iron Door Grill (located right next door and connected to the bar) and 'Live' music on the weekends. Oh, by the way, be sure and save room for desert - they have a 'genious' desert baker (Nancy) but beware! Her Tiramisu is addictive!
With a history of 'Big Name' musicians appearing over the years that you just would'nt expect to see at such an intimate venue. This is due to Chris's skill in booking the BEST bands ever, and his father-in-law's (Peter Barsotti) long career with Bill Graham Presents, the company legenday for providing the best in Rock and Roll entertainment in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Barsotti's and Low's make you feel like a 'Local' no matter where in world you're from, and who knows, you might fall in love with this bar and this town, and actually become a local someday. Don't laugh, it wouldn't be the first time that's happened! Just ask most anybody from Groveland.
