6months minimum 11/3/2011

I think the minimum membership of 6months is also long. They do let you try out classes first, but of course they can change schedules, instructors, or close. I'd love to see more places go month to month. Knowledgeable and skilled at the art/sport, but it seemed there wasn't a strong cirriculum planned. It would have been better if they really focused on the basics for new people instead of grouping all levels together. more

HORRIBLE GYM EXPERIENCE! 1/24/2011

This gym is one of the worst I have attended. I signed up for a 6-month membership at this facility because it is a class-driven atmosphere, with the intention of utilizing the boxing, circuit training and shapedown classes in the early morning and early afternoons. I was told that all classes would remain the same, giving me a wide variety to choose from. Starting into my 2nd month of membership, they cancelled all yoga and body pump classes. In my 4th month of membership, they cancelled 2 of the morning boxing classes, in addition to the ladies shapedown and circuit classes. This now makes for a total of 6 morning classes that were cancelled, leaving me with only 2 days that I could now attend the gym, as opposed to my usual 5! Then, within a couple of weeks, the trainer for those two classes quit, leaving me with 0 classes that fit my schedule in the mornings. When bringing this in front of the management and asking that something be done, they offered no resolution, other than to start coming at night and taking kickboxing. When I asked for my money back for the remaining 2 months that I had prepaid for, they refused! In my opinion, this gym was a bait and switch, suckering you into an upfront membership at a slightly lesser cost, and then canceling classes that people attend, in order to cut back on their costs. Not only this, but this gym is extremely unhygienic! The cardio and weight equipment is never cleaned or serviced, with sweat all over the treadmills and floor. There are no TV's and the cardio room is kept so hot, that it makes for a dangerous environment to work out in. The boxing room is also supposed to be cleaned from the excessive sweat that accumulates from the classes, however, the floors are sticky from the sweat that isn't cleaned up from around the bags. The trainers are supposed to handle this after classes, but they don't! As for the locker rooms, I can't speak for the men's locker room, however, the women's has had several cockroaches crawling around on the floors, which is extremely disgusting. Needless to say, I never went back and cut my losses. I'll let you decide if this is the place for you! more

Best All-Around Gym in town! 12/28/2010

This is my first review ever - I just had to spread the word about Iron Clutch Fitness. I'm a 38 yr-old woman (in average shape) who's had a gym membership to somewhere almost my entire adult life. And I hate the gym! I feel so LUCKY to have found Iron Clutch. I made my appointment for the intro class and signed up immediately after. The place sells itself when you walk in the door. I'm doing kickboxing, Kali martial arts, and a strength & conditioning class - all taught by awesome, fun, energetic trainers - the best part is the price - VERY resonable!! There is no other place that offers so much for such an affordable price. Each class feels personal. All the trainers are friendly and approachable. Everyone greets you and talks to you which takes away any anxiety you have about being a newbie. I have never owned a pair of boxing gloves in my life so I was a little nervous at first. But the trainers are so welcoming that you don't feel like the odd man out. I love my gloves now and I can honestly say for the first time in my life - I LOVE the GYM!! :) more

Great Gym, terrific kids program! 11/3/2010

I don't know where else I could put a kid in boxing or jiu jitsu for under $100 per month! Iron Clutch is terrific, my daughter is going to be bully proof and I won't be broke! She loves taking class from her instructor, and I love that I can go take a class while she is in hers. If you're looking for a family gym with the excitement of an MMA atmosphere, give them a try. more
