The hotel stay was wonderful, but the getaway experience was ruined by their restaurant.
Let me start with telling you that we have been visiting this restaurant and liked it for many years. It was one of our favorite places on the getaway trips to Pennsylvania. We are sorry to say that all the declining in quality of the food and service we were watching through the last few years as well as today’s horrible experience brought us to decision not to patronize this establishment any more.
Let’s start with the Food:
Nice description of the dishes on the menu does not mean you’ll get what you ordered. Today we ordered: a) SPINACH DUMPLINGS (Five Oriental style spinach dumplings, pan seared in sesame oil,over a bed of sautéed spinach, Shiitake mushrooms and asparagus,served with a sweet mango sauce)
There were no asparagus what so ever, but there were 5 tasteless spinach pot stickers probably cooked from the frozen foods section of the supermarket.
b) CHILEAN SEA BASS (Boneless Chilean sea bass, accompanied with crabmeat imperial wrapped in a flaky pastry, baked to perfection, and served on a pool of lobster and saffron cream sauce).
There were no sea bass ( my best guess it was Tilapia ), no signs of crabmeat imperial.We ordered it with rice and asparagus, received with baked potato and green beans. And that is after our unprofessional, inattentive, irritably bubbling waiter was convincing us to take these as veg/starch sides.
The same story repeated with ALL THE DISHES we ordered!!! EVERYTHING WAS NOT PREPARED AS IT DESCRIBED ON THE MENU!!!!!
NO APOLOGY, JUST WEAK TRIES OF EXPLANATION WHY THIS IS NOT THAT, AND IF YOU DIDN’T ORDER POTATO – HERE IS SOME MORE OF POTATO AS A COMPENSATION FOR THEIR MISTAKES!!!!!
If you want to experience THAT be my guest and go to this dump of the restaurant. Otherwise stay away and save the money for something better.
