Best Tagliolini 1/22/2008

The ingredients are fresh, simple, and delicious. I ordered the Tagliolini Neri con Aragosta, Cipolle Brasate e Rucola. It's ok if you can't pronounce the dish; what?s more important is getting your mouth around the succulent Tagliolini themselves. They are so fresh and need I say al dente? This is such an amazing dish, the homemade pasta, the fresh and perfectly cooked lobster, served in a savory tomato sauce. My friend ordered the Tortelli di Patate con Salsa ai Porcini al Burro Versato, a heartier pasta dish with a potato filling and porcini mushrooms drizzled with browned butter. The red wine that was recommended by my server was a great match with my meal. And to finish, I had the best Pasqualina I've had in my life (even with all my trips to Italy surprisingly enough.) I'm not sure if this dessert is always on the menu, but if you love creamy, milky desserts whose consistencies offer surprise and delight and whose temperature is the perfect coolness, you should definitely order it. It was wonderful! Pros: Sexxxy accents more

it is no more 9/18/2007

Italian Food At Its Best 5/31/2007

If you want to eat Italian food that is authentic and innovative this is the place. Im really picky when it comes to where to eat. I honestly do alot of research especially when I took my soon-to-be girlfriend to this restaurant. The decor was amazing you walk in and its almost being inside an Italian villa that you ooh and ahh all the way to your table. The drive to the place was scenic alone. I cannot think of anything that was bad about the place. The service was attentive even though there was a different waiter showing up to refill our drinks and ask about the food. Eating at this restaurant was both relaxing and entertaining. I will not recommend this to anyone for I want to keep this place all to myself. more

Best calzone I've had in LA 11/11/2006

Been there twice, got different calzones each time - both were great. Maybe better than any calzone I've had in NY, too. And as you can see from reading the other reviews, their pizza is wonderful, too. Both visits my husband did the make-your-own pizza thing and was very, very happy. Thin crust pizza cooked perfectly, very nice gourmet selection of toppings. more

Relaxing, sophisticated, and romantic atmosphere, great food 11/4/2006

Lucia's is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. It is somewhat hidden away, but very worth the trip. The food, service, and atmosphere rival any of the more well known restaurants that line the SM/Malibu areas. Service is very well informed and the menu is inventive, confident, and varied. The roasted vegetable salad is outstanding. Pefect place for a date, anniversary, or special occasion. Pros: Atmosphere, appetizers, food more

Some of the best pizza I've had in SoCal 11/1/2006

Located in a stripmall, there's nothing that tells you you're about to have something extraordinary. The decor is cute with dim lighting and white string lights. The staff is attentive and friendly. The pizza was thin-crust and we ordered ours simply with canadian bacon, which worked well. I almost wish we'd ordered more as the medium left us almost-satiated, but not full. I still say the best pizza in California is up north, in Berkeley--Zachary's. Pros: excellent pizza more

I agree - best pizza I've had so far in L.A. 8/28/2006

Read about the pizza, so that's all we tried - and it was great! Their choices of toppings are awesome... Pros: great pizza and bread, friendly more

Best Pizza and Spaghetti! 7/5/2006

We ate the Supremo had the Spaghetti Bolognese and both were the best that we have ever tasted. It was all to be expected and much more. What went above and beyond was that the owner, Mark, came to our table and chated with us for a bit. This is a place I would love to eat at again and again. Pros: Food food and food. more

amazing sevice 6/16/2006

We had been in a terrible mood, my wife and I, when we happened upon this little restaurant. We were lost, sunburned and tired when we turned in to ask for directions. We saw Lucia's and decided we needed to eat to prevent us from killing one another. Thankfully, our waiter Devin, (or Melvin or maybe it was Kelvin), helped turn our evening around. He was informative, amusing, and helped me forget the fact that I was trapped in a loveless marriage with no hope of escape. My wife had the ravioli and I had a heaping portion of abuse, which is apparently just as good warm as it is cold. When I tried to open my wrists up in the warm water of the bathroom sink, our server was attentive and had just the right level of faux concern. Desserts were marginal in lieu of the circumstances. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking to rekindle the romance in their relationship. Pros: red stain on floor can be blamed on merlot spill Cons: $10 corkage fee more

A great date place! 9/21/2005

The ambience was superb! You walk in to a softly lit eastern Europe restaurant. It's not so dark you're wondering what is on your place, but it is perfect enough to spark that suttle romantic mood. The food was amazing, I seek out Italian restaurants and this one quickly made the top of my list! Pros: Ambience, Food, Service Cons: Location more

User review by poipuman 6/4/2005

This family restaurant reminds me of my mom's home cooking. The ambiance was excellent, food was even better. Very European restaurant with a twist. I also found out that the family has own several restaurants in Seattle & Kauai. Highly recomended Pros: inexpensive, easy to park, good for kids more

Overall Amazing! 5/31/2005

I was pleasantly surprised by this rare gem of a restaurant! Located in the Highlands Plaza right off of Sunset, it caters to a very high-class crowd, where you are more than likely to see actors, writers, and studio execs. The ambience was so charming with it's rustic wood tables and candlelight, and the staff was as friendly as they were good-looking! The food was amazing, true Italiano, with a great wine selection (they have an awesome wine discovery Tuesday)! Their portions are rather large, so bring your appetite! I would suggest the Chicken Canneloni, but ask about their daily specials as well, the chef prepares an awesome Halibut dish! Pros: friendly staff, amazing food, ambience Cons: none! more

Dine amongst the stars! 5/10/2005

Lucia's decor is warm, vibrant, and alive! The staff is friendly, and you will dine side by side your ""A"" list celebrities. The value is incredible and the food is a breath of fresh air! Best kept secret in LA! Pros: inexpensive, people watching, healthy dining more

Great Spot 8/25/2004

We had dinner at Lucia's last week. What a cute place! The service was excellent, the food was good and it wasn't very expensive. If you live in the area, I would highly recommend it. I especially liked the Penne alla Magro. It was perfect for my Lo-carb diet. Pros: Yummy dishes, Service, Nice atmosphere more
