Editorial review from Citysearch 12/19/2012

Love that it's open 24hrs Monday to Thursday! \r Club is very clean and has a lot of new equipment. \r T.V.'s on treadmills, Free Wi-Fi and daycare staff is extremely friendly. \r \r I tried some of the Group X classes and loved it!\r Instructor was kinda of annoying with the high pitched voice, but she kept us motivated. I felt welcomed. \r \r This club does get busy in the mornings and also in mid-evening. But other than that there is a lot of equipment to choose from. \r \r Levi signed me up and was very professional. I didn't feel like I was being put on the spot. He explained everything to me. I feel I made the right decision. \r \r Only downside is I had to sign a 12 month contract. Levi explained that this is a 12 month commitment to myself. That really put it into perspective for me. So I joined. more

HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUES CANNOT BE IGNORED! 3/8/2011

\r I have been a member of IAC for a few years never really had any issues until February 28, 2011, I was chemically burned over 90% of my body from using the hot tub at the Lake Harbor facility. What has occurred is loss of body hair, patchy red spots, extreme burning and itching, and of course the smell of chemicals as they reverse and exit the pours. This club has been contacted and asked to provide my health care providers with the exact chemicals and the amounts used in routine maintainence of the Hot Tub, those efforts have been ignored. We are trying to establish a method of treatment, currently I am using cream designed for radiation patients and it has had little success. It is interesting that as of 2000 the great state of Idaho does not regulate nor have jourisdiction over health club facilities so they are EXEMPT from State regulations because they are considered a ""semi-private club. So basically any one of these types of facilities can be neglegent with no reprocussions. As of this review, the problem still exists, and efforts have not been made to drain and apply the proper amounts of chemicals to the hot tub. I guess you could say ""Buyer Beware"", check out the chemical situation, clarity, color, smell, temperature before using the pool or hot tubs. If you have had recent exposure to this situation at this facility or any of the other locations, you need to contact CENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH 208-375-5211, and also the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU 208-342-4649 so they can document these occurances. I am concerned about the many individuals who have in the past week used the facility and may be experiencing the same situation, it is not a pleasant one for sure. In my opinion it's time these guy's step up and take responsibility for the safety of their members before they commit to cashing checks for membership fee's. In one day I have racked up in medical bills more than two years membership dues to this facility because of someones ignorance. It is my understanding that the staff at this particular club is responsible for monitoring the chemical levels in the pool and hot tub, that alone is very scarry!!!, knowing that I will stick to the treadmill !!!.\r HELP SUPPORT REGULATING HEALTH CLUBS BY MAKING THEM ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THEIR MEMBERS! more
