Ikea is like an outing, there is so much to see, the prices are amazing the food is good and cheap. I could easily spend the day there.

Stuff! 4/13/2006

Ikea is an excellent place to equip one's home or apartment cheaply. They have practically everytihng in that category one could need. Things are named in Swedish, which is very odd - I'm not sure whether I would count it as a feature or a bug. Be careful, though - it's easy to come in here intended to get nothing and leave with a cartful of stuff you may or may not actually need. more

Pure Sugar! 4/5/2006

There's nothing quite like 'but maybe I could use that' to make someone feel happily domestic. College students, teenagers, and young twenty-somethings alike all can share in the wonder of the capitalist economy at work. Granted, no one ever expects Ikea furniture to last - thus when it does stand up on its own, everyone is shocked and amazed. Aside from cheap disposable furniture they do have an amazing selection of knickknacks, kitchen goods, rugs, picture frames, house plants, Swedish meatballs... need I go on? And lest we forget, everything named in the most amazingly crazy way possible. It's could easily be a day in itself - go in the morning, eat lunch in the café (the cakes are tasty), sit and ponder what you should put back in the afternoon, and try to make out of there before your car bends from the weight of your purchases! However, jesting aside, Ikea does have quality goods for a price that almost everyone can afford. It is quite a bit of fun to wander around - at leat for me. Don't forget to find a copy of their catalog when in need of inspiration - or easy bedside reading! more

Great place to buy furniture and things 12/11/2005

They have great helpers and cool stuff. I go there every once/twice a year or if I need something neat and cool mostly four to five times a year. They have great furniture and sometimes great sales. I know alot of my friends that shop there and enjoys spending there money on worthy stuff. I suggest this to people who lives around conshohocken. more

Cheap furniture 9/17/2005

If you're willing to transport furniture home and assemble it yourself, then you can take advantage of the low prices and wide selection here. This may not work for everyone, as at the end of your visit you have to load everything yourself off the shelves and into your car, and I ended up spending some extra money renting a van from Enterprise to get everything home. They sell tool kits to make the assembly process easier. more

  • In Short
Hopen, Malm, Aneboda-no, those are not suggestions to name your pet, but the Swedish names of IKEA's designer furnishings and decorative odds and ends. Created with a "one-way" layout in mind, shoppers weave through a labyrinth of seemingly endless showrooms stocked with equipment to creatively accessorize every room under the sun. With patrons ranging from groups of freshmen students looking to outfit their tiny dorms to entire families, the store offers a huge repertory of styles, patterns and colors for every unique taste. And speaking of tastes, the small restaurant just beyond the cashiers serves up traditional Swedish fare for those who worked up an appetite.
