MADE MY DOG SICK!! 10/9/2009

My dog got out of our fenced-in yard on a Saturday. We immediately looked for him in the neighborhood AND the shelter, they said he wasn't there! I had trackers go look for him at that same shelter....they said he wasn't there. After an entire week, I received a call from a person looking to adopt a dog from that shelter and said she saw my dog out on the floor to be adopted!!! We went over and sure enough it was him. We had gone there several times looking for our baby and they said he wasn't there. He wasn't there because they had him in an ""overflow house"" with the sick and pregnant dogs! We got him home on Saturday, on Sunday he started coughing and not looking well, it went downhill from there! We took him to the vet who said he has a bad case of kennel cough or worse it could be the super canine flu and turn into pneumonia! My dog is STILL sick! He had to have subcutaneous fluids, antibiotic injections as well as a cough suppressant with codeine in it. Oh, and not to mention the food supplements because he has no desire to eat! Thanks for turning a vibrant healthy dog into a sick, miserable, lethargic mess! He had been at that shelter the entire time, they had him since he escaped from the yard and even though they had our flyer, no one even cared enough to check for my dog! Say what you want, but this is NOT a good shelter! I wish I could adopt EVERY animal in the place and rescue THEM from that place! Pros: Pleeeeze! Cons: A Laundry List more
