Worst experience from start to finish 5/2/2011

From the moment they didn't show up to fix the damage until the repairs were ""completed"" it was a bad experience. I dropped the car off at 7:30am on Thursday. I received a call later that day saying that the hail repair guy didn't show up and he was ""out tornado chasing"". They asked me to return the rental car and to pick up my car and said they'd complete the work the following week. I told them I didn't have time to pick up the car that day. They called back and said the repair guy would be in on Friday to do the work and that the car would be completed by Tuesday. I told them that I didn't want to be stuck with rental car fees for the extra days, as it wasn't my fault their guy didn't show up. She told me they'd take care of any extra fees. 5pm Friday I received a call from Hubler, ""The car is completed. It looks beautiful. Please pick it up by closing time (5:30pm)."" I had 30 minutes to hustle through rush hour traffic in a rainstorm to pick up the car. I got there at closing time, paid my deductible, and drove off. I had no time to inspect the car and it was raining far too hard to really see anything. I got home and my wife saw that the back seat was left in disarray. There were broken pieces of plastic on the floor and seat and there were chunks of mouse nest all over the floor (they found a mouse nest in the roof). They didn't bother to clean up their mess nor put the plastic pieces back where they came from. The car still had numerous hail dents and some of the areas they ""fixed"" were now humps (instead of dents). I contacted Hubler and they said they'd make it right. I brought the car back and they ""fixed"" it in one day. When I arrived to pick up the car, it was clean inside, but there were many hail dents on the doors that had not been fixed. The woman explained that the doors have a protective beam that make that area unattainable, therefore dents can't be removed from that area. Had I been told that from the get-go, I would have just taken a check from my insurance company and chalked up the hail damage as a loss. Once I told her this, she changed her tune. She told me that the dents were actually door dings and they weren't liable to fix them. I disagreed and left. I wrote a letter to the manager, whom called me today. She was obstinate and rude. She told me they fixed my car and that all that was left were door dings. TWENTY SEVEN door dings??? Three maybe...but the rest are hail dents. When I talked with her about the guy not showing up on day one to perform the work and the manner in which he left my car, she said, ""He doesn't work for our company. We contract out."" (basically not taking any responsibility for it). She later said, ""I apologize for his actions."" I don't care if they contract out or not, he represents THEIR company. She then told me that she would have my insurance company come out to look at the car so that they could let me know that the dents are actually door dings. This is, by far, the most unprofessional company I have dealt with in years. Hanover Insurance has them as one of their ""preferred companies"" to use for repairs. Avoid them like the plague. more
