Editorial review from Citysearch 5/2/2013

They wasted my time had me come for an intake kind apparently forgot to tell us they discriminate against breeds. I was not allowed to bring my american bull dog mix there. They said they wont take any do who looks like a pit or a bull dog. They really ruined my morning. My dog is nice is happily playing at a great place called Dogs Dig it down the street. They have misters to keep the dogs cool and small pools for them to play in also. I will not support a business who is sending away nice dogs for no reason. more

A different dog! 11/24/2008

I can't say enough about the doggie daycare center that Pam and Daniel have created. I looked at centers from Gresham to The Pearl District and when we found this one I knew this was the place. It has made such a difference in my 15 month old Lhasa/Poodle puppy. She is a much better housemate for me, my husband, 2 cats and 1 other dog. Don't even bother looking anywhere else! \r \r Thank you staff at Howliday! Pros: The care and love for each dog! Cons: Wish I could afford it every day for Bailey! more

Best People ...Best Doggie Hotel. 3/22/2008

We had a furnace fire at our house and our doggie Baxter couldn't go stay at the people hotel with us... Pam and Daniel the owners of Howliday Inn rescued us and Baxter. Their facitlity is first rate and the attention and love they gave to Bax was unblelivable. I highly recommend them...and have for years! more

Cardinal Biggles and Syd Barrett Give Howliday Inn Two Paws Up! 2/11/2007

I have been taking my Cardigan Corgies to Howliday Inn for day care and overnight boarding since sometime in 2004. They LOVE daycare day - Pam, Daniel and and the rest of the staff are wonderful people who truly love dogs. I don't mind paying more for overnight boarding because the quality of the care, and the availability of play time, is so worth it. Woof! Pros: Large clean facilities, extremely caring staff Cons: I can't afford to let my guys go there every day :-) more

My dog LOVES the HOWLIDAY INN!! 2/7/2007

The Howliday Inn is a truly wonderful doggy daycare!! The owners Pam and Daniel are AWESOME, friendly and caring. I searched around quite a bit before deciding in a heartbeat that the Howliday Inn was the place I felt comfortable taking my beloved dog. A bad experience at another doggy daycare landed my dog and two others at Dove Lewis (ingesting foreign material). The vet bill was $1,700 with no reparation from the doggy daycare. Obviously, I was VERY cautious about the next daycare. I visited some that were plain unclean or had cleaners/buckets with mops directly within the dogs' reach. Some had wooden play structures that the dogs' had obviously been chewing on.......not good. After doing the tour at Howliday I felt relieved!! My girl goes to daycare every week and she LOVES all of her friends there. She doesn't even look back at me when they take her to the back....she can't wait to go have FUN! Their overnight care is also EXCELLENT; I have left my dog there many times and entrust Pam & Daniel completely. We give it two thumbs and four paws up :-) Pros: The owners and staff are awesome more

Great for day care and overnight 5/23/2006

We're very happy with our experience with the Howliday Inn. After the initial ""review day"", you bring them back in them in the morning and pick them up days later at night. It is $32 for a day/night and they have a run where their crate and toys can stay and during the day they are in a large area with other dogs their size. (One area for wee dogs, another for larger). Mine is a lab pup about 55 lbs - she plays all day and loves it there. She sleeps for 2 days once she's home. The dog and I love the people who own and run the place - and it is obvious they love dogs too. May 2006 updat e- dog still goes here on our vacations and single play days - she loves it here more than home! Pros: affordable, clean/new facility, staff Cons: nothing major more

A Tired Dog is a Good Dog 3/3/2006

Steve, our one-year old Golden has to be dragged out of this place. He loves playing hard all day and the staff are all really nice and warm and treat you well. They also reinforce our training and commands while he's there which is a nice bonus. Do know though, they're popular and I was on the waiting list for a while so give them a call early. more

Howliday Inn is a howlin good time! 1/19/2006

08/10/2006 After our initial great experiene, we take the girls here once a week for doggie daycare and they LOVE IT! Daniel, Denise and Pam are great -- they even work with our not-so-little Anna to keep her from jumping up on people. We've really noticed a difference with how happy our dogs are and would highly recommend (and have) Howliday Inn to anyone. Great flexibility with drop off and pick up times for boarding, and you always get service with a smile. \r \r 01/2006 We took our two cattle-dog mixes to the Howliday Inn for an evaluation day (dogs must be evaluated before being considered for overnight boarding -- a precaution that I really appreciate). They had a ball! The facilites were extremely clean, well maintained and Pam was so good with our wild-girls. :-) Now that we've experienced an evening at home with two pooped pooches (9 hours of play FINALLY wore the dogs out), we know that we'll go back to Howliday Inn again and again... Pros: Clean, Safe, Friendly people more

Clifford LOVES Daniel, Pam and Denise! 8/24/2005

My husband and I started taking the love of our lives to Howliday Inn close to a year ago and couldn't be happier with the care, attention, love and training they've shown him. I credit Cliffy's good behavior to Daniel, Pam and Denise and can't imagine taking Clifford anywhere else - and, quite frankly, I don't think Clifford cares to go anywhere else! The team at Howliday Inn really love their daytime doggies and treat them as they would their own. Pros: quality care more

Our Dog Loves It Here! 7/18/2005

We've been taking our black lab here since he was a wee pup. A few weeks after we got him, we had to go out of town and looked all over Portland to find a place to board him. Having just moved here from the east coast and being first-time ""parents"" we were very nervous about leaving him and did lots of research. He was very timid and we were worried about him adjusting. He did GREAT and they were SO good to him. We have since brought him back for Doggie Daycare on a regular basis and he has literally transformed into a more confident and happier dog. He is now 15 mos old and STILL gets crazy excited when we tell him he's going to ""school."" They are so kind and caring and he has a great time here, whether it be for daycare, or an overnight stay. Pros: Pam & Dan are Great, Outdoor area Cons: 2 far from our house more
