""...and on the eight day God (and Sally & Sonny) created Howard Creek Ranch. What a great job they did. This is a true rest stop for the body, mind & spirit. Everything is beautiful especially, Oreo! We'll be back...again more

I found this place by accident 15 years ago and I've made an annual trip ever since. The owner's, Sonny and Sally, are two of the most gracious and caring people I have the honor of knowing. The moment you drive on the property, the serenity wraps you like a warm soft blanket and you know you have arrived at a very special place. You'll have to sacrifice paved parking lots, TV and constant noise but you're gonna love it! Between the scrumptious breakfasts, the lush garden and the close proximity to the beach, your soul will be restored in no time. The problem is that you won't want to leave! If you try it once, I am convinced that you will be drawn to return again and again. You must check it out! more

My wife found the place to be quite charming. We stayed in the ""Boat House"" which was quite comfortable although the bed is quite hard to access. It has a nice wood burning stove. It is a short walk to the beach along a path filled with blackberry bushes. The place has a nice hot tub. The library is filled with many books but quite disorganized so it is hard to find anything. The breakfast was very nice. I particularly liked the pancakes. more

Spent a long time reading the many journals left on the dresser and I think it's all been alucid. What a gem! I was quite fortunate to have run across the HCR on the internet! My husband just loves the birds. It's a real treat for us to listen to the ocean also. Truly wish we could stay longer! more

I don't even know where to start. Howard Creek Ranch is a charming place full of things to do. We stayed tow nights, but it was not enough. The beach is beautiful. Sally & Sonny have put so much love & effort into this little paradise & it shows. The room was perfect for my sister and I to share. I hope to come back one day. Thank you for a great weekend!!! more

I have been here many times and keep coming back. Peaceful, tranquil, romantic..everything anyone could want if you truly want to get away from the hustle of life and immerse yourself in nature...and each other. It has it all....the ocean, the wooded hills, beautiful gardens, fabulous breakfasts, spectacular sunsets, hiking trails throughout the 60 beautiful acres of the ranch itself. My sweetie and I always leave here with lifted spirits and a feeling of having recharged our relationship. Looking forward to our next visit. more

Hearty breakfasts prepared on a wood fired stove, served in candlelit settings in front of a roaring fire...Conversations that focus on gratitude and awe of the nature surrounding us...Sunrises and sunsets that cannot be given enough words to express their grandeur...Walks up into the hills where old growth Redwoods stand, appreciated and honored...Quiet and solitude This is found at the Howard Creek Ranch. more

I took my wife to Howard Creek for her b-day. What a pleasent adventure. From the beauty of the gardens,to the veiw of the ocean, this was one of our best trip we have taking over our 23 yrs together. Sally is very friendly and and Sonny is interesting to talk too. He is a knowledgeable person with some great idea about life.We stayed in the Willows room . The room was roomy, clean and comfortable. The ranch style breakfast was GREAT. You have the opportunity to visit with people from different areas of the country. We had 2 couples from Nevada, sharing breakfast with us.The owner ate with us,how much more personal and relaxing could it be.With the years we have been vacationing we have never had a talk with the owner or managers of the hotels except if a problem arouses.Thank you Sally,Sunny and Isidra for a delightful and memorable vacation. more
