All of the opinions that I have read here about how horrible this company is and I am very suspicious of the positive reviews. As angry as I was about the whole incident I wanted to forget about it. Reading these reviews made me recall my anger. I feel compelled to relay my horror story. They came into my house to do their famous $69.95 inspection. After their inspection they told us the heat exchangers in both of our units had to be replaced because they were rusted through and had to be replaced immediately.They had a tester with a camera that showed what they said was the inside to the heat exchanger. I suspected it was showing the inside of the exhaust pipe. They told me that it was the law that they had to disable the units until the heat exchangers were replaced. The total bill for the replacement for both units would amount to over $4000.00. They applied a lot of pressure for me to get them to do the work. I had a young baby in the house and it was going to be cold over the next few days, so I signed a service agreement on the spot for the services. When they left I got a second opinion and stopped them from performing the services. I followed the buyers remorse laws for stopping the contract and they continued to harass me for several months threatening to put liens on my property. I got the second inspection and Admiral had disabled both units. The heat exchangers were in excellent condition and are still in use and passing inspections after 4 years. more

Beware - Most of the good reviews seem to be bogus. Read all of them before deciding. I doubt that Admiral has ever really fixed anything. They came to my house to look at my AC when it stopped working. Lo and Behold, I needed a new attic unit for $3000. Silly me, I believed them and let them do the job. This year, they came out to look over the unit again when it quit working. This time I needed a new compressor unit for $5000. My unit is less than 5 years old. I got a second opinion -- I needed a new fan motor. I was up and running for $250. How can this business be still up and running with so many negative complaints? I am just sad I didn't research them before I spent the first wad o'cash. My mistake. more

I do run a stable customer service department, i do not run a phone room. I do have the normal amount of turnover nothing that is out of the ordinary. I am unsure of the two individuals that you are refering to. My contact number is 281- 895 - 8608. I would be more then willing to speak to you about who they are and clear the air of any ill will or feeling you may have had during your employment here. I am also unaware of any gossip. At least if there was you never brought it to my attention. You cant solve a problem if you do not know the question. Again i not sure of the situation with the owner coming down and yelling at a employee. Same offer stands give me a call i would love to clear things up with you. Ripped off Grandma 9/9/2010

They cold called my 87 year old grandma and offered a free inspection. I was at work/school at the time. We had her air condition serviced 1 month ago from another company, no need for a new unit at this time. They did their scam routine, told her the unit needed to be upgraded, when it was working just fine. She has dementia and I feel they really took advantage of her and she was the perfect victim in their scamming eyes. They charged her $5,100 for a $2,500 unit. I came home after the unit was installed and told them to get off her property. The check has been cancelled and we're filing suit against them after we get an estimate from a reputable company more

BEWARE of price gouging 7/17/2010

They came out and did a checkup that was reasonable, but when I called hem back to repair a unit i was 4-5 times the price of a competitor. I don't trust them and will not do business with them again!! more

I responded to a cold call and had Admiral come out to inspect my AC and heating systems. I expected them to sell me some services... it is the time of year I like to have maintanance done and it was easy to set up the appointment. Pros: Nice Technicians, On time weekend appointment Cons: Pricing way way out of line!! more

You people are knot heads 7/30/2009

I called another company and they said they would be out by 11:00 p.m. After 11:00p.m. they still didn't show up. I called Admiral and they were there within 30 min. My A/C was cooling again within the hour.John Conley was the tech who came to my house @ 12:00 a.m. the man was professional and his fee was reasonable. How many company's do you know that will give you great service and reasonable pricing in the middle of the night. So all you knot heads, hotheads that complaint about a company because you didn't get the free pricing you wanted go take a jump in the lake maybe that will cool you off. Because no one is going to fix your unit for free. Pros: great service any time Cons: that i didn't call them first more

Absolute Worst 6/29/2009

Late last summer, purchased a 5 ton ac evaporator coil; they installed 4 ton unit. Told us we could ""step down"" 5 ton evaporator coil to 4 ton condenser - cannot with our condenser; used scare tactics - embarassed that we were so taken in. They didn't pull a permit until 6 months post installation (+/-); wouldn't return calls; warranty makes no sense - again, our embarassement that we didn't read closely enough. Pros: AC works Cons: Scare tactics, untruthful, price, warranty, no return calls more

Liars and Thieves, OH MY!!! 6/7/2009

I received a cold call for AC check the day after I had replaced the Thermostat and AC would not turn on. Admiral came out. I told the tech what I did and 1st thing he said was that I probably fried the circuit board. He went into attic and came down saying. ""Yup, circuit board is fried, and since it's a Carrier we'll have to order one and it's expensive. $899 plus our $99 service call. I was shocked of course. He kept up the hard sell which felt wrong. Asked him how he knew it was fried and he said he could see it. I refused the service, then he told me I needed 4 lbs of freon at $52/lb. So I paid for service call and freon. When they left I went into attic to look at circuit board. Noticed ""FUSE"" was missing. Replaced 3 amp fuse and AC kicked right on, no problems. So they tried to STEAL $899 from me for a 10 cent fuse. AND THEY STOLE THE FUSE. LIARS AND THIEVES. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Pros: I didn't fall for their lies. Cons: Quoted me $899 for a 10 cent fuse. more
