Ocean Divers are a little difficult to find. Wend your way behind the African Queen and Holiday Inn. Just before you get to the government's spy house ( you can't miss it for all the antennas) on the left, on the canal. The best plan is reserve in advance by telephone. As with most FL dive operators who have been hard hit by rising gas prices and hurricanes, you are going to spend a fortune. Just bite the bullet and go! You're worth it.
Ocean Divers are a professional, safe operation. I watched their dive master, who looked to be a retired gentleman swim out and rescue two divers who had been swept away by current. He brought them safely back to the boat. Next time they'll sink fast when the current is running. He wasn't even out of breath.
Staff have many years of experience. All you have to do is listen to them and ask the right questions.
And don't forget to browse the shop before or after your dive. They don't have a lot of the basic equipment, but hey you're not going to buy that from a charter operator. You want nifty bits you can't buy elsewhere. Like great shirts and do-dahs. The fish ID books are a good bet too.
