My daughter passed away. I requested custody of her son, my grandson. My two sisters, and my Mother did...and the godparents all requested custody. All were denied. Judge Cynthia Giuliani did not allow testimony from witnesses on our behalf to speak...only allowed the State to speak. Therefore, we weren't able to discredit anything the DA said. The CAP chosen by the courts to handle the family court custody case isn't even qualified to handle such case. By his own admission, he is a construction/home building attorney. Am I the only sane person that sees a clear issue with this? Why is he representing a family custody hearing?
Per Giuliani and the DA, Gail Smith - I had an attorney but she was not able to speak on my behalf because I wasn't an "official" party to the case...only a biological grandparent seeking custody.
Judge Giuliani never acknowledged our family - it was like we were not existent. The foster family that has my grandson, has 3 or 4 foster children. They get paid by the State for each child. We'd be a loving, non-paid environment for him, but yet, we can't have him?
There's more issues - but I think you get the gist of her experience - or lack thereof.
Do all of us a favor, DO NOT RE-ELECT GIULIANI for any future seats where she has the power to make a decision and disrupt a family for a lifetime.
