Worst

Hog Heaven is a perfectly decent bbq joint, but its 'que is nothing beyond ordinary. They do a decent job on the pork and the sides, but it isn't the type of place that could sur...

Pretty good lunch spot 5/20/2011

Did lunch at Hog Heaven. Didn't take long to order at the window. Meal was inexpensive. Had the chopped pork sandwich and thought it very good. I'm still trying to adjust my taste buds to that vinegar-based sauce however. Good hush puppies too. The banana pudding was good, not great. Friendly, efficient wait-staff. Definitely on my short list for lunch now. Sure wished they had one on the south side of Durham. more

Amazing Barbecue 1/2/2011

First, I never take the time to write reviews, but the record needs to be set straight. I'm a barbecue fanatic, and Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q has consistently the best barbecue I've had in my entire life. I've eaten barbecue around NC, and Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q can not be beat for their chopped barbecue. The restaurant's ribs, chicken and fish are very good, but the chopped pork is off of the charts. Although the service I've experienced has been top notch, I couldn't care less because the food is so good. I also like the homemade BBQ sauce. more

Great staff, great food, great service. Best coleslaw and potato salad I've ever eaten. All these basics combined with the area's best barbeque and chicken, it's heaven on a plate. Real simple atmosphere provide customers with a simple dining experience. more

Catering at its BEST! 12/16/2009

I am employed at Duke and several committees have had events catered by Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q. I have attended several of them. They communicate the contracts clearly and are always available for special requests. They will accommodate your every need to their best ability. The set up is timely, the food is prepared/delivered/and/or served professionally and has a touch of class! We love the bqq, chicken, vegetables and banana pudding! Kudos to the owners and staff! A Must Try!! 12/8/2009

We went to Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q last Friday night. The super friendly crowd gave the place a great buzz! The menu is full of comfort food that hits the spot, such as the pulled pork and mac and cheese. The enormous portions come with a very reasonable price tag. You definitely won't leave hungry from this place. And the waitress made the evening even more special by being super sweet! A great place for good home cooking. 11/15/2009

Hog Heaven Bar-B-Q is a great little place. The employees are probably the most down-to-earth, nice people ever. I love to come here for my lunch hour because they are quick with the orders and I always have a good experience. Plus they are very reasonable with the prices. So if you are in the mood for bbq or just some good southern cooking I recommend Hog Heaven. They have great food and plenty to chose from. If you have never eaten there-I recommend trying the bbq or chicken. And please, try the sweet tea! I swear it is the best I have ever had! Pros: Food, Fast, Nice People more

Not great but good 10/28/2009

Got the family pack with chopped BBQ. Sides and puppies were good, but the Q had very little smoke flavor and no ""pink"" evident that is usually present in real smoked meat. Don't know if they boil it or what, but it isn't smoked for hours on end. Needs lots of sauce to make it edible. Many other much better places around. Pros: good hush puppies Cons: smoked? more

Hog Heaven has always helped out through the community in helping to raise money for different events. Our loccal Vol. Fire Dept. in Bahama has held many family nights there to raise money for our station. The food is GREAT, as close to your momma's cooking as you can get. Service is always good and you will leave full all the while looking forward to the next visit! If you can't eat that banana pudding now order it to go or you will be sorry! Yum Yum!! I'm a Regular! 10/12/2009

I love their BBQ and everything else on the menu! But I think I could eat their chicken and dumplings, candied yams and squash for dinner every day. (I do average getting that once or twice a week and BBQ that often too!) You can dine in, order at the window outside, or drive to a window. Makes it simple, it's fast, and you can't find better food. Pros: Best BBQ around more
