Amazing 3/21/2012

We have been bringing our pets here for years. I have never once had a bad experience. The staff is always nice and polite. Recently my dog ate my wedding rings. The staff at Hillcrest was amazing. When we first thought that dog (American Eskimo) ate my rings we called them. They had us come in for an X-ray. I was able to leave my dog there because I had to go to work and they were able to see her with out me being there. This was extremely helpful to me because it can be hard for me to miss work. I had to return a week later when I had not yet received my rings from my dog. I was then able to leave m dog over night and pick her up the next afternoon after they had retrieved the rings. I would have assumed that amazing service like this would have coated an arm and a leg but it was really affordable. I LOVE Hillcrest!! more

Very happy and grateful 9/23/2011

I have had only positive experiences with this clinic. Our cat, Keefer, was 15 and had been going there his whole life. He was always well-cared for at Hillcrest. When we brought Keefer in recently to be put down due to incurable kidney failure, the staff was sympathetic, considerate, and also professional. They were prepared to gently give us the facts we need us and prepare us psychologically for our experience. I appreciate their warmth. more

Vet is Rude!! 7/23/2011

When I have a pet, I like to use the same vet so they get to know my animals. But I had to change from this vet. The vet was so rude everytime I went in. She must not read the file before our visits. One example...my dog was do for her distemper shot. I told the vet I didn't want the distemper shot, because the last time she had it she had an allergic reaction. The vet snapped at me about calling them and letting them know. I told her I did. She sent the vet tech out to check the computer. The tech came back in and told her there was a record of my call. Similar things happened EVERY visit. more

Disappointed 4/1/2011

I have been using this vet clinic for the past year and have been satisfied with the service and care my dog received.\r This past week I called at 8:00am, just as the office opened, and explained that my dog was severely ill. The person I spoke with said we could not get an appointment until the afternoon and that their emergency appointment time slot for the morning had already been booked. I do believe the person I spoke with understood the urgency of the situation. I was very dissappointed that the clinic was not more flexible concerning emergency appointments.\r I contacted the White Bear Vet Clinic and even though we were not current clients and even though all their appointment times were booked, they told me to come in immediately and they would work us in. I was there by 8:30am and we were immediately brought into an exam room- the vet was there by 8:35. Sadly, our pet did not survive but I was extremely impressed with the care and compassion received at the White Bear Clinic. more

Dr. Elliot is the BEST! 11/3/2010

I have been bringing my dog to this specific vet for 2 years now. My experiences have always been great! The review I read from Bluebox08 was serviced by a temp vet that was fired anyways... so I understand why she wrote a bad review.. but to all of you who read it.. don't think that that vet is still working at Hillcrest!! My dogs vet doctor is named Dr. Elliot.. She is a wonderful lady and is absolutely the smartest vet doc I have EVER met!! She answers all of questions thoroughly and always gives me details when she is talking to me. I love her as my dogs doctor and even though my pit tries to snap at her... she loves being his doctor too! lol\r \r The prices are also very reasonable!! They accept care credit and will sometimes let you pay monthly payments.. All depends on the circumstances.\r \r Great place full of great people!! more

Great staff, but don't be fooled. 2/14/2008

We started bringing our puppy to Hillcrest because it was very close. The nurses have been wonderful, and have gone out of their way to answer any questions, but the doctor has been horribly rude everytime. We have had dogs our whole lives, and have never seen a vet with such little interest in a dog. \r \r She does not have any people skills- she accused us of neglecting our dog because we don't go home during our lunch breaks to play with her, and lectured us when she lost a puppy tooth playing tug of war. \r \r After our last visit we question her animal skills. Not only did she give our dog 4 shots without so much as a 'good girl', treat, or pat on the head- she yelled at her for sniffing her hand, and left the room as I was asking her a question. She didn't once interact with our dog, and made us feel like we were bothering her by coming in. \r \r If you have a question that a nurse can answer I would feel comfortable calling, but I would not reccomend making this your regular vet. While we don't doubt our dog has received good medical treatment, we feel horrible every time we leave her office. Pros: The hours are flexible, the nurse staff is very nice, reasonably priced Cons: The doctor is not friendly, with you or your dog. more
