A perfect 10. 12/1/2005

I can't say enough what a fabulous experience Heron Haus was. The enormous bathroom (complete with spa, fireplace and cozy bath robes) and super-comfortable bed almost kept us in our room the entire weekend! Wireless internet access and a basket of goodies were also included. When we did venture out, we discovered Heron Haus' lovely gardens and hilltop views. This house is obviously well-loved by the Innkeeper, who was friendly and personable without being pushy or demanding too much of our attention. The common areas were warm and comfortable, without being overdone or pretentious. Breakfast was also excellent, complete with sticky buns and fresh fruit. Just down the street, we were spoiled for choice with so many restaurants and shops. There's even a trolly that runs right to the city center. Pros: beautiful, friendly, great location more

A very good choice!!! 4/18/2003

This was our first time in a Bed & Breakfast and I'm glad we chose the Heron Haus! The innkeeper, Julie, was so nice and gracious. We stayed in the Kulia suite for a week and never wanted to get out of the hot tub. When we did fenture out, 23rd Ave., where all the shops and restaurants are was only 3 blocks away! We even took Juno, the innkeepers son's Great Pyrenees out for several walks! We LOVE this place and will definitely be back! Thanks Julie!!! Pros: Soft beds!, Great service, Location!!! Cons: Nothing at all!!! more

A Honeymoon to Remember 12/16/2002

My wife and I chose Heron Haus for our Honeymoon because of its location and the pictures on the Internet. We wanted a romantic, secluded spot, close to downtown and were very pleased with our choice! Our room, Mahina, on the third floor had a fire place, a huge kind bed and great views of Mt. Hood and some of the other mountains here. But what made our stay memorable was the hospitality and kindness of the Inn Keeper - Thanks! Pros: Close to restaurants., Quiet atmosphere., Hospitality! Cons: none. more

We'll be back Julie!!! 12/11/2002

My husband and I stayed with Julie for a week while looking to relocate to the Northwest, and I have to say she helped our transition immensely. Her hospitality and knowledge of the Northwest made our stay worth while. The Heron Haus was the perfect ""home-base"" for us while we explored the City, wine country, and the Coast. It's a grand old house with big beds, a spa tub, and fireplaces in every room! And I wish my sheets smelled so good! Thank you Julie!!! Pros: Comfortable bed!, View of the Mountains, Location to 23rd Ave. Cons: None, None, None more

A warm and friendly getway. 10/10/2002

Julie's warmth and hositality made our stay in Portland the best in years. We travel extensively and throughout our travels haven't felt more at home than at the Heron Haus! After taking trips to the wine country, the Gorge, Mt Hood, and shopping downtown, it was great to come back and soak in our spa tub. The firepalce, candles, bubble bath, and the view from the tub made it difficult to get out. Hurray for Julie!!! We'll see you again! T&J Pros: Location!!!, Hospitality!, The breakfast muffins Cons: None! more

Bad service 7/8/2002

If you missed the complementary breakfast hours, the hostess will not serve them to you. She will tell you everything has been dumped away when realistically, the breakfast items only includes tea, coffee, and fruits. Pros: Good ambience, Quiet neighborhood, Friendly dog on site Cons: Bad breakfast, Bad service more
