I finished treatment with Dr. Land over a year ago. My first appointment I was a little nervous about getting braces as an adult but they made everything so easy!! I was able to get the clear brackets on the top so you could hardly tell I had braces. They have payment plans and file your insurance which other orthodontists I had consults with did not. more

My son recently got his braces off and has an amazing smile! This past month I start my Invisalign trays. The staff at Dr. Land's is outstanding. They are so caring and really feel like family. You will get to know them so well while in treatment. My wife is even thinking about starting treatment as well. His office staff is filing my insurance and collecting it for me...so less work for us! I can not say enough good things about this practice. It makes me wish I had found him earlier so I could have enjoyed my smile may years ago.! more

Both of my daughters have had fabulous orthodontic work completed by Dr. Land and his competent staff. I first learned about him through several of my patients who are dentists. They have said that he is the best orthodontist in Wake County. Also, since I work occasionally with some of the ENT (Otolaryngologists) of UNC-Chapel Hill on some patient cases which require both our skills, I can tell you that Dr. Land is very well-respected for his breadth of knowledge, depth of knowledge, cutting-edge techniques, and truly talented work regarding orthodontics. He has even been on the Guest Teaching Staff of UNC-Chapel Hill's Dentistry Program for many years (which is a huge compliment, since many consider it to be America's finest Dental Program)! He listens well and makes logical recommendations based on many years of experience. I cannot recommend him enough!\r more

We just finished treatment with Dr. Land. Everything has been great; from the intital consult with Allison to all the chairside assistants! Dr. Land is so friendly and spoke to us parents after every visit. Thanks Dr. Land for the prettiest smile! more

I had THE WORST EXPERIENCE UNDER DR. LAND!!!\r \r He does not know how to work with braces. After I complained to him that the braces were pushing them in a direction they weren't supposed to go, he kept replying, without even looking, ""That's impossible."" Actually it wasn't impossible...and I had to switch to another orthodontist.\r \r He likes to talk and chat...but trust me, he does NOT know what he's doing.\r \r I have heard of others who have gotten botched jobs through him. DO NOT GO TO HIM! For the love of God and your teeth, don't!! Pros: No pros Cons: He is incompetent! more

I have been going to the same dentist for years and told him that I though I may be having headaches because of clinching my jaw. I went to Dr. Land one time without even telling him my problem and he already knew. He may be a little expensive but it was well worth it not to have migraines anymore, plus if I waited on my dentist, I would probably have cracked teeth by now. Both of my children received braces from Dr. Land and as soon as we had paid him, he could not wait to remove their braces! He is also very talkative and is way too busy socializing with other patient's parents!\r My daughter NOW needs corrective jaw surgery from his BOTCHED palate extender that he used before her braces. A very good specialist,(oral surgeon) at UNC and one in Cary said that his* work had caused her harm. * (they said whoever had done the work!) and it was old Herb himself. What a bad orthodontist. Do not let your kids suffer . Go to one of the others in the Raleigh/ Cary area for better care and long term success. I was new to the area and had no idea he was this bad.\r I heard Dr. Gurley was one of the best, if that helps! Pros: not one thing. Cons: Bad service, bad care more

I received braces from Dr. Land several years ago. In the past few years I have had several problems with my bite resulting in headaches and jaw pain. Several specialists have told me that my braces were not kept on long enough and that they actually made my bite and teeth worse. To correct what Dr. Land has done I will now need braces again and surgery. If my teeth had been correctly treated when I was younger I would not be having these problems now. more

My child received 2 sets of braces and the teeth are not straight to our satisfaction yet. Dr Land insist that the are. The initial upper retainer rusted and broke and they tried to charge us $350.00 for a replacement whice we refused. This was a waste of time and money. Cons: expensive, unhappy with results more
